Rebel yell
It was a heavy defeat, but quite a few of the Slough players were still on trial against what looked like a well established Bracknell side. On a positive note, one of the Slough lads was signed to the first team and could possibly make the bench for Sundays game (unofficial rumour). Mark44
That would be fantastic if true Rebel Yell...... Could Neil or Jon shed any more light on this?
Neil Baker
Yep we have signed Seb on from the youth team on first team forms and will sit on the bench on Sunday. He was one that came to the initial trial day we held, and he has done well when we have seen him, so feel that it will only benefit him from being around the first team changing room, especially as we can take up to 7 subs in FA Cup (however we will not be taking 7 as it becomes too crowded in and around the changing room, and we don't believe that 7 subs is needed) However with a few unavailable and injured we are slightly stretched this weekend and feel it is a perfect time to get him involved, (though we will not be broadcasting who is not available, as do not want to tip the opposition off)
Mark44
Brilliant news and something we rarely saw under Bateman. Hopefully we are comfortable and he can get 10 mins or so Coyr
Slough Kitman
Mark 44 were you at the forum night, If not Mark Betts was asked was there any players last year good enough for the first team, the answer was no. The year before there was 1 and he left to go to QPR, Mo. Tony Mendy didn't want to know.
Mark44
I did not make it but listened to the recording. My point is that our managers have taken on board that fact and got the trial day set up finding a good local young player and now it could pay dividends
Slough Kitman
And all I'm saying is, That if there was a player in the youth set up good enough Steve would have given him a go. Now lets move on Steve is not here any more, and Neil and Jon don't need to be kept being compared to Steve or what they did last year.
Mark44
Firstly Steve Bateman was a great manager for this club and made us competitive once again. However, there were certain aspects he was better than others Now that we have Neil and Jon we have a breath of fresh air and I was just highlighting the pro activeness of them leading to a young player coming thought the ranks. I am therefore failing to see a problem with highlighting such a positive example of the club moving forward
Mark44
I would like to add that I would never come on here and slag off Steve Neil or Jon and think you reaction above slough Kitman is grouping me with others who certainly would
Slough Kitman
here we go again, were on earth do I say your slagging any body off. All I'm saying is Steve did give any player that was any good a chance. And Neil and Jon don't need Steve done this and not that, We are now Slough Town. Mark44
Lets just agree to disagree. I was just pointing it how Slough Town Fc was moving forward, that's all
