cup of tea
After looking at Brightside Bloke's rather fatuous comments about us on the Billericay forum basically suggesting that we are all up ourselves (despite them continuously reminding us of their massive fan base in comparison to us) and we all think that we're the best team in the league, realistically how well do we think we will do this season? For me personally I would look at some of the budgets of the likes of, in particular Maidstone as giving them a big advantage. There's quite a few clubs, us being one that will be in the mix I believe. I would be happy with a playoff place, anything else would be a bonus for me. Miss.A.F.C.Hornchurch
Having a big budget doesn't mean that you are guaranteed a promotion place. It's what happens on the actual pitch is what counts. I'm happy with the way that the season has started for us compared to, say, the last two season. I would hope and like to think that the clubs main aim is to be promoted straight back up, tough, but not impossible to achieve. I would hope to think that we would finish in the top 5. To be honest, i would be surprised if we weren't. My top 5 at the moment in no order would be; Hornchurch Maidstone Dulwich Lowestoft Margate This can change so many times between now and the season, and as we all know this is a tight league anything could happen. Old Dodder
This is my first post and as an AFCH supporter I have to be realistic. A play off place is a possibility, the basis of a good side is definitely there. But the league this year is particularly competitive and will as always see the better sides improve their squads as the season progresses. I think just one or two of the right signings in the key areas could see us challenging for the title. I know it's difficult to get the right players but I'm sure the management are striving to do this and hopefully we will do that sooner rather than later. Come on you Urchins
obis
I've always thought that the definition of how good a team is or how successful they are is defined in the happiness of the supporters. As a guide I think we are doing rather well thank you.

MaldonBlue(GAFC)
East Thurrock and Dulwich both looked good against us, although that could be more a guide to our abilities? Kingstonian could have a good season as well, they are not conceding many goals at the moment!
cup of tea
Quite a competitive league this season - I think it will be a good test for us away to Dulwich today. Kingstonian's defence is doing okay! Grays will be in the mix if early form is anything to go with
MaldonBlue(GAFC)
Being honest can see a 15th or so finish, Groundsharing will probably make the pitch difficult during the winter so teams will play long ball and we can't defend that as we are quite slow at the back. Can't see us scoring enough goals against teams of East Thurrock standard and above. Almost forgot, Dulwich are very quick and the keeper looks like some experiment from 1940s Germany, he is huge! Plumstead Blue
With no offence to AFC Hornchurch, but you'll have to up your performances if the match with Lowestoft is the yardstick. Your left back looks a player, but I didn't see an awful lot more that impressed me - that might have been something to do with the weather, though. I took in the Wealdstone/Enfield match on Monday and was well impressed by both sides. Wealdstone have signed Glen Little (who has hundreds of EPL matches on his CV) and he really looks a cut above anyone else that I've seen in this league over the last 3 seasons. The RPL isn't won or lost in August and September - it's the Tuesday night away matches in Jan/Feb that make the difference.

Both us and Billericay knows what it takes to get out of this league as we both got promoted two seasons ago.
Eastside Urchin
It's also the ability to grind out wins in the late stages of games which we have done on a couple of occasions already this season. If you look at the teams who have won the league recently, they have all started the season well, starting well is as important as midweek away games in January or February, which lets face it, there isn't actually too many, that's just another football cliche
urchinman1961
We r not the finished article yet but the ability to grind out results says a lot about us which in my opinion is the most difficult ryman prem in years .Not everyones cup of tea sorry simon our style of football but if it get u 3 poiints who cares wot other people think. we're in the mix already ,the table dont lie
