26th August v Beaconsfield

Thought burgess was excellent first half constantly tormenting their number 3 and delivering dangerous cross after dangerous cross. Substitutions didn't make a lot of sense to me - dyer was playing well and then they equalise so we make a knee jerk sub to bring 'god'?!? on. Then burgess, ok possibly with a slight knock, gets taken off instead of the totally useless (on this showing) couch. My main annoyance from today is with the line up chosen. Firstly, if wheeler needed to be rested why was he left on to play the full 90 on Saturday when the game is already wrapped up. Then you're missing one half of your first choice centre back pairing (hollis) so surely you don't then leave the other half out to play a brand new pairing one of which is playing out of position!!! Surely that's something you do in a Mickey Mouse cup not in a local derby league game??? Very despondent tonight and feel let down by some of the new players who we have heard so much hype about. Feel that players like browney could walk into this team right now!!!

To finish on a different note, best wishes to George, thought he started the game well before what looks a very nasty injury!!!

Didn't see much 'tormenting' of the SYCOB players going on or 'dangerous cross after dangerous cross' so we'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

Also not sure you could say 'Dyer was playing well' so we'll have to agree to disagree on that one as well.

Agree with you about both the Hollis and Foulser pairing. All I can think off is that Foulser is not yet 100% fit.

Also I think last season Wes Harrison played quite a few games at center back (Bakes or Unders will correct me if I'm wrong) so should have been comfortable in that position.

Well I cant disagree with any of the comments on our defending.... It was poor to start with, we got to grips to it after 15 minutes and they did not really threaten us first half after that period, second half was extremely poor, you can put the blame at the feet of someone for all 3 goals, and they did not have to work hard at all to score them.

Foulser was not fit enough in the end, hence why we had to go with Wes and Wooze who have not played together, and it showed if we are honest.

We are fuming tonight, as players are letting us down for a variety of reasons.

I have no issues with people having their views, and that is fine, however we do believe in these players, and they will get it right, we may have to make one or two tweaks, but we will get there....

In terms of George, the news is he has a fracture of the radial head, which is effectively his elbow.

He was in a lot of pain, however it can not be put in cast, and he has been put in a sling, and will be out for 4-6 weeks (so could have been worse, but still not great news, as we felt he was showing you why we rate him highly at 19 with how he started today)

Anyway huge apologies, we are bitterly disappointed, and you deserved better than we gave second half.

Onwards and upwards.

I have to say I am very disappointed with today's performance. We were in complete control of the game and it was thrown away. There was poor defending and the players kept making the wrong decisions. The team didn't look like they were knew what each other was going to do and no-one seemed to be up for it apart from Smith at the end (a bit too much in my opinion). On the plus side there were plenty of opportunities to score, but on the downside our finishing was appalling today.

However, I do believe (and hope!) that the team will improve and start to show their quality that we've all been told about and hopefully show more fight in the games to come. Let's move on.

Up the rebels.

Echo the above. You could tell it wasn't a good one despite his efforts to run around following the accident which caused it. Hope he can make a swift recovery.

Frustrating day today on and off the pitch. Seems our support can't get behind the team, especially when they are behind, and we need to get this massive chip off our shoulders as supporters that the opposition is "sh*t" and how we should be beating everyone we face. We don't deserve that, we have to fight to earn the points as many teams show when they play us. We need to match that and do more off the pitch to try and raise the players. We've done it before and we can do it again. Let's get a positive atmosphere for the team, and supporters, for the games and get through this all together.

Win as a team, lose as a team. Serve With Honour.

4 points from a potential 12 - not good enough - bottom 1/3rd quality.

Some people need to seriously cut the hype and start to deliver - that is both management and players, will reserve further comment until 8th league game played.

Hope Georges injury does not keep him out too long as we will need every fit player to get out of this mess.

Well said Gary, totally agree. I think it is right that we should complain about today's performance as it was very disappointing, but at the same time we have to stay positive and get behind the team. Besides, we are four games in, judge this new team and management after at least a few more games.

4 points from 12 is exactly where we were this time last season gained in the same way 1 win 1 draw 2 losses so thing arent a disaster and if I remember correctly there then followed 3 or 4 straight wins It is worrying given their reputation that there is very little cohesive play from some ,as others have said ,it looks like they havent been introduced to each other! Its also regretable that Baks and Udders havent yet been able to pick their optimum team due to injuries and other absences but that doesnt excuse poor performances from the team that is put out The new management have said they are confident they will turn it round but I wonder, after 10 or so games, if it hasnt turned round Is there a plan B? I agree with Gary that all teams should be given respect and treated as worthy opponents some of Batemans arrogant poseurs were guaranteed to raise the opponents game My best wishes also to George.

It's as much off the pitch in amongst the supporters, here and on the terraces, as it has been historically on it. I remember a season under Eddie Denton, a successful one admittedly, but if we were behind, we just shouted louder. Now we just get abusive when a player misplaces a pass. Lets get behind the lads a bit more often. Fair play to Marcus today, he did try.

Firstly, I'd like to add my best wishes to George Short, it certainly looked like a nasty injury, hopefully he will recover quickly.

As for the game, it did seem like a return to the last few years, where we played well for the first 45 but did not make the pressure count as much as we could have, and then in the second half something happens where we just go to pieces and lose the game.  Everything seemed fine at half time and we could and should have pushed on to control the game further.  However it's already been said that it all went wrong, particularly where the goals all came from situations which developed down our left hand side, and whenever we did get the ball forward we tended to panic and couldn't create.

I'm sure things will come together but the slight concern is that things may have moved on too much by then to the point where we are struggling to stay in touch with where we want to be.  We must however move on to the next game and hope for the best and get behind the team, as Gary said.  COYR!

Michael Last season we missed the playoffs by 1 point and lost 8 of the first 12 points Every point counts from the first game to the last There really isnt any "lets sit back and see what happens"time For the record I just dont understand what has happened to such a successful group and I do believe Baks and Unders will get it sorted quickly.

Have to agree with Gary about the support. I've only been impressed once this season and that was against Uxbridge where the support with the chanting at times was impressive but in all the other games I don't think we've been up to scratch and we've gone out with a whimper.

Also, I think we all agree that Couchie had a bit of a mare tonight but I do like his attitude on Twitter where he admits that it wasn't his finest hour but has rallied the players, including himself, to come back stronger in the next game.

where is the difference in this team and last seasons. steve bateman team,at the meeting a few weeks ago this new management team did say that they would play a different way and work hard, we are not working hard enough now. you can lose your focus very early on in the season as we have been doing for the past few seasons and you are constantly playing catch up which will always prove to be difficult in any league. Please can we have some vocal management from the management team during the game. The best way to silence any fans is to play to win.We have been told that these players are better than last season but at the moment that is very hard to see

Just a thought, but sometimes a team that does better than predicted, sometimes don't always come up with the goods the following season.

I don't think we have to silence any fans because most teams in this league don't have any fans to silence.

As far as working hard enough, I think in the Uxbridge and Kettering games we have worked our socks off but for some unknown reason in the other two games we haven't got out of first gear.
