geoff pay
Outstanding new clubhouse. Outstanding performance from Scott Kinch-what a find. First goal a deflection but on target to start with. Second goal well taken with minimum marking. A comfortable win in trying conditions. Worth getting stuck in their lift for!!
michael
A clean sheet-fantastic . was it avery and vines in central defence-or vines and l'anson ? won the game aswell, so that's also quite good I guess not there so can't specifically comment-but I guess margate are the higher quality side, but if it was played in bad conditions-evens it out-so an even better achievement-great stuff
Coffin Ender
Pitch was fine. A bit bizarre that Charlton's game was abandoned and we had no problems...we obviously dodged that cloud. As for the game, pretty comfortable to be honest. Thamesmead never really put us under any sustained pressure. We had three-quarters of the crowd of 94. dflman
I thought that we should have gone there to win 5-0 but the weather was against us plus having no John Beales affected the play formation - 4-3-3 would have been fruitful. We did get the same downpour as Charlton but obviously the Valley still has that bath tub and other stuff under the surface or it's credit to the pitch designer at Thamesmead which is only a stone's throw from the Thames so the water table must be quite high. Liked their little ground a lot , easy to park right outside and it's a shame they have little support. That massive estate is peopled by some many different nationalities many of whom don't even speak any English so they will always struggle but the Town Team that they have there is developing a nice sports community by the look of it. Their new stand was designed and built with modern materials and although not very big is a definite model to have a look at. The toilets were a laugh as the light went off after about 10 seconds and you had to wave your head around to get the attention of the sensor. A win is a win so well done the gate with particular attention to Kinchie and young Jake. Warren Whitley made a difference when he eventually came on with his pace down the right. The tannoy was deafening as others will testify.
michael
as dfl says above ,and as SO states-ant win away from home is good ;so good day today. no real idea about Thamesmead-but to win promotion last season is a good effort-and I suspect they are in a false lowly position, so to take points off them now is very good my gut feel says they wont be in bottom 3 come april-and didn't one or two pundits tip them for promotion-so again-suspect once settled, they will do ok , which makes today all the better. BlueBoydie
Just watched some of my video and it must be said they didn't look like the team that has had a fair few thumpings in the opening weeks so will def start picking up points soon IMO, so as the general consensus seems to be, a good win all in all, what with the flash rain, etc.

dflman
Good blog apart from the fact that that part of Thamesmead is in South East London SE28 not Kent
