DerekR
I see from the Football Webpages site that The Town beat Hendon 3-2 via a 90min penalty. Perhaps not too conclusive, but three points are three points gained. Well done the lads.
Mr Happy
Poor performance aside from the last 25 mins where we improved greatly. On balance a draw would have been fair but 3 points taken gladly.
Steph
The substitutions made the difference. At least one of them should have been made at half time!
andyetfc
3 points will help in the long run but we were very fortunate to get them. The two goals scored from the corners left me wondering whether players know what they are supposed to do when defending.
Chase Side Towner
Agree with all of the above. Poor until the subs came on. Much better from then on. Awful defending to lose two identical goals from corners. Definite pen for the third goal, but why was the Hendon left back not sent off? And then he sends Liam off for what? Utterly incompentent refereeing at times yesterday.
Steph
I agree the foul on Wallace stopped a clear goal scoring opportunity and not even a booking. It was suggested Hope got his second booking for aggressive behaviour however the only aggression I saw was from Horlock!
NowhereMan
The foul on Adam Wallace occured in what would be described as "the inside right channel". The rule of thumb for a DOGSO (denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity) is that it has to be between the width of the 6 yard box facing goal with full control of the ball and nobody else around. The Hendon player who committed the foul had back up close by and the keeper was almost on top of Gunz too. Not a sending off but agreed it shouldve been a booking. Hopey was sent off because in his own words he said "have that you c..t to the keeper as he celebrated and was leaning over into his face whilst doing it. Steph
""have that you c..t" Well I didn't hear it and I was nearer than the ref and lino!
Arthur Salisbury
Has anyone got any pictures of the penalty at the end or Liam Hope's exuberant celebration afterwards?
