RAMS GO MARCHING ON

OLDER RAM

Recommended Posts

Another great win for "THE RAMS" last night, in what was an entertaining game. I was very impressed with Egham, and I think they will surprise you when you meet them, they were very strong and organised and with three up top with pace were a real handful, I think they will be the surprise team in the mix at the end of the season,  really looking forward to Mondays game now,

C'MON YOU RAMS !

Thought the Rams did well last night, with the first goal being the pick of the bunch, what a strike.....

They were comfortable until the penalty to make it 3-2 and then I felt they got a little nervy, but ultimately held out.... Great start for Gary in what can only be described as tough conditions.

Gary, if Beaconsfield had a forum I would post on it, but this forum would be very insular if it were for Slough fans only don't you think. When I post on here with my views and asking for opinions and the Slough teams joint manager answers, don't you think that shows my posts are relevant and of some interest ?

Thanks for your reply Neil Baker, i'm always interested in other opinions, I thought last nights game was entertaining, and am looking forward to our game on Monday, were you impressed with Egham ?, they surprised me !

Older Ram, as the SYCOB don't want to talk to you, why don't you become a Slough supporter, we all know that you want to come out of the closet and admit that you have feelings about Slough Town, so why not dump your old colours and put on the amber and blue and feel free to express your true feelings and emotions and become a rebel?

OR, many places, including here, offer free forums so why not create one and promote it amongst fellow non league fans to engage in discussion around the excellent start the Rams have had? (http://www.nonleague.co.uk/index.php?app=nexus&module=support&section=new is where you can request a new forum, nice and easy.) Whilst we encourage and welcome fans of other teams to contribute on here, it is a Slough Town discussion forum and its primary function is to discuss things directly relative to our club. GarySTFC,I'm surprised at you being hostile to Older Ram's thread.

Can totally understand your rhetoric about this forum being all things Slough Town but given we share the ground with SYCOB,I think the odd posting from an obvious fellow non-league fan is worth a read and with their current situation is quite relevant and newsworthy to me and I expect quite a few other Slough fans.

As Beaconsfield's website and forum are so little used or updated,I think Slough Town FC and those worthy souls that set up our forum/website and those that continue to oversee it,should be rightly proud that knowledgable supporters from other clubs want to join in ie TomCrin-Rugby FC,Rother-Windsor FC and Older Ram-Sycob FC.

Gary,it's not like these supporters are constantly writing on all threads.Besides, I find it rather interesting and relevant on how other teams are getting on especially someone like Beaconsfield,as so little information comes out of the place,ie local press, websites[unless you're in the know].

What do others think?

Totally agree with you 3spirit as I was also surprised at Garys reaction.

This forum is and will remain essentially a forum for Slough fans.

However, I think it adds to the forum when fans from other non league clubs come on here from time to time.

Although I am a Slough fan I am also a fan of non league football in general and I dont think fans from other non league clubs coming on here is much different from having a drink with these fans after a match.

I even wrote a topic recently on here about how i was turning into a SYCOB fan. :P

Quite frankly I would sometimes rather hear from fans of other clubs than some of our own so called supporters who enjoy criticising our own club.

I'd just like to stress my above comments and try to prevent it before it starts. Still think it would make perfect sense for OR to setup a SYCOB forum on here and promote discussion through that mind. We're all registered on here so could cross boundaries very easily. Would do them good to have their own forum and generate some interest in their club I'd say.

I agree with bernie. Not so much an issue with other fans coming on but older rams posts do tend to be gloating

A good example of other teams fans is Royston jez who comes on to talk to us rather than to gloat. He is the opposite to older ram and the reason I like being open to other teams fans

I think OR's last post sums him up really.

He had plenty to say as usual before the playoffs last season but when the rolling rams got knocked out he vanished from this earth.

If he wants to have a sensible adult conversation then fine, but really most of his posts are just wind ups so he is probably  best ignored.

Needless to say I am with Gary.
