Karen Browne
A Groundhoppers Views. Hillingdon 0-4 Hertford Town Admission £6 Programme £1 Garlic Naan Bread £1.95 Head Count 38 Pleasant evening spent in the company Enfield’s finest number 1 lurker off this forum (another’s Forum). Hertford looked the brighter throughout and deservedly took the lead in the first half through a header that just crept over the line after missing 2 great chances. Second half was pretty much the same when they doubled their lead early on then controlled the game until adding a 3rd in the 90th minute then a 4th in the 91st. Hillingdon look like a team on the slide this season when not so long ago (06)? Played in a Vase Final.
Karen Browne
Two Groundhoppers Views Tuesday 20 August 2013 – FA Cup Extra Qualifying Round (Replay) Attendance: 110 approx Hanwell Town (black & white stripes/black/black) 0-1 Cockfosters (red/red/red) Scorer: Cockfosters (Ali 27) Pitch: dry, bit dusty, looked good, played well – Weather: fine, drifting high clouds Cockfoster’s Adem Ali scored the only goal of the game in the 27th minute. Ali, 20 yards from goal, brought the ball down, turned and sent a half-volley crashing into the net. Hanwell Town were under wraps for most of the game, but put together a strong finale only to squander three late chances. Cockfosters will play at home to Hadley in the next round. Also at Hanwell for the FA Cup replay....my first visit to a surprisingly rural ground just off the A40 on a pleasant evening. Entire game played out to the backdrop of relentless police sirens. A robust, competitive game, Cockfosters were the stronger side and more creative up front. Hanwell enjoyed long spells of pressure in the second half but lacked the subtlety to unlock a tiring defence.
tringarmy
Photos loaded from Tring's 3-0 win tonight. Cracking second half of football. Thought Cogenhoe had been on top until the 2 quick fire goals. Even after that they had their chances. Both sides had penaties saved, could have been goals galore but Vinnie's finishing proved the difference. I suspect he would have started but was delayed on the trains coming out of London http://www.tafc.co.uk/report.php?fixture_id=2099 and a Tuesday night FA Cup & League round up http://www.tafc.co.uk/news.php
BigDogCol
Great 4-0 result away at Hillingdon Borough last night from The Blues of Hertford Town. It should have been a lot more in all honesty. Hit the post and bar in the 1st half and as HBFC came forward in the second, the space opened up behind. Felt for them a bit as their committee are a nice bunch of blokes and their team is an honest one who try to play the game in the right way. Amazing clubhouse and good pitch too. Full match report available at http://hertfordtownfc.co.uk/?tb_match=1111 photos and stats to be updated shortly. In addition, a well-written, comprehensive and very complimentary review of the Stotfold game too by yet another groundhopper here at http://worldgroundhop.blogspot.co.uk/search/label/Hertford%20Town and this guy visits all grounds at all levels. An interesting read.

Dirtyclaret
Fantastic result for us last night. 3-1 in the end. 2 late goals. But deserved I felt. Over the two games I felt we were the better side. However Codicote are a very strong physical team and from their style of play and the players they have you can see why they have and will score as many goals as they do. Dunstable town in the next round Friday 30th at Barton. The two Nolan brothers playing against each other. We have 3 or 4 former dtfc players. And both sides are majority local lads so alot of friendly banter before during and after to be had.

Last programme had just gone when I arrived but a friendly committee man took one from someone, possibly a non-playing player, and gave it to me. Very good second half after they went in 1-1. A guy called Joe came on in the 2nd half for Southall but I'm sure he was Usain Bolt in disguise. He was seriously fast ! If Southall play like this with any consistency they will be up near the top this season Friendly welcome and friendly goodbye and I'd recommend a Wednesday night at this lovely ground anytime

domcassells
Were looking for more consistency this year. We had great players last year, but not always the best team. This year i think we'll give a few guys a run for their money, and hope to quietly go about our business. Nice report from the ground-hopper, we are trying hard to improve the matchday experience. Which is a lot harder when your the ground-sharer.
