Todays Non League Paper report that i sent in has unfortunately been edited incorrectly, i realise that the guys are under a lot of pressure to get the stories out for the following day but thought i would just post what i actually sent.

Despite playing nearly an hour with ten men Margate were good value for their 3-1 win over Harrow Borough at Hartsdown Park.

The home side had the perfect start when inside the first sixty seconds, Charles Ademeno latched onto strike partner Phil Walsh’s throughball to plant a perfect  finish into the bottom left of Harrow keeper Oberschmidts goal. On loan JakeHessenthaler was pulling the strings in the Margate midfield and its was the Gillingham youngster that was instrumental in Bodkin going close twice as the home side looked to extend their lead. Keeper Craig Holloway produced a fine save from Llacer on twenty minutes but minutes later was beaten by his own player, Walsh unfortunate to head into his own net after a cruel deflection.  And within a minute Harrow looked to turn the match on its head as Simeon Akinola found himself through on the ‘Gate’ goal,  as he pulled the trigger his legs were taken by Holloway and despite his lob rebounding off the crossbar the referee pointed to the spot. Shaun Lucien  stepped up but Holloway was equal to his effort diving to his right to palm the ball to safety.  On 35 minutes left back Ryan Dolby was sent off having brought Akinola down as the big centre forward beared down on goal.

Margate despite a man light continued to attack and seven minutes into the second period regained the lead Walsh finishing well from Scott Kinch’s ball. Avery and Beales at the heart of the home defence kept Harrow’s strikers at bay and on 76 minutes the impressive Hessenthaler won the ball, as he and Kinch had all afternoon, and played in Zac Attwood who cooly slotted past Oberschmidt. Akinola went close in the final stages but Osborn and Holloways men hung on for an impressive and important three points.

Man of the Match Jake Hessenthaler

Entertainment Value 4/5
