Westfield 2-1 Shrivenham

As usual making hard work of games we should be comfortable in with the chance created but who cares - first ever FA cup win at Woking Park and just the 2nd in our history. Bring on Fleet in the next round !

Frimley Green 3-2 Ash Utd

Not the greatest of games at a very windy rec, but some good goals in this one. Ash raced into a 2-0 lead within 7 minutes, with Frimley looking all over the shop. They gradually got a foothold in the game and got one back just before half time with a thumping Jason Short free kick. Within a minute of the restart it was 2-2 from a Quintyne shot and with the replay looking inevitable, the young Frimley sub settled it a minute from the end. Frimley host Cove next round I believe.

Newbury 1-4 Windsor

Not as straightforward as it sounds.

Windsor started off completely in control and looked a class above Newbury. Attack after attack with little coming back at us in the 1st half. But it was only a penalty that was converted so we went in just 1-0 up, when our dominance merited a healthier lead.

We then went 2-0 up early on in the 2nd half and that should really have been "it". But maybe lack of experience showed because we went off the boil and allowed Newbury to get up a head of steam for half an hour and we looked 2nd best. They scored one after some fannying around at the back, (FFS, get rid!!!) and it wouldn't have been a big surprise if they'd drawn level.

Then we got the 3rd and a 2nd penalty to make it 4-1 and re-established our superiority.

Fair play Newbury for coming out in the 2nd half and putting us under the cosh but we need to be more professional / clinical / focused for 90 when clearly the better team as we were here.

Good day out. Pitch was ok but the grass a bit long. Biggest stand I've seen on my travels at Step 5 / 6 - HUGE. Apparently a relic from Newbury Racecourse.

Newbury players were not happy with the ref at the final whistle (the usual "that was embarrassing" and "worst ref ever" being muttered as he walked off), and I have to say I did feel Windsor had the better of his decisions.

I won't make comment on yesterdays DFC  v  Shoreham match, other than to say that Shoreham seem to have a complete disregard for discipline and officials, picking up 6 yellow cards and were certainly very lucky not to have two of those yellows turned to red.  The referee must have been in a forgiving mood.

Even one of their supporters, I was told after the match, happily abused the club-house side assistant referee, frequently using the 'F' and 'C' words !!!

Whoever gets them in the next round might want to wear ear-plugs |!!!!
