michael Posted August 13, 2013 Share Posted August 13, 2013 i think mr Purcell will provide a sterner test for our central defence than the hapmton strikers. however if everyone works hard ,and to use the old cliché-defence begins in attack, so if walsh and ademeno keep up their excellent workrate, followed by a hardworking midfield 4 as we witnessed on Saturday, it won't give Hornchurch much possession and they will get fewer chances to feed messrs rook and Purcell. to me-one of problems last season-not enough numbers in midfield-so opposition saw too much of the ball and defence under too much pressure and couldn't keep up concentration for 95 mins. at first glimpse-SSOHO appear to have acted to stop that by having numbers in midfield. another good thing from Saturday is -apart from the penalty-we seemed to give less free kicks away-which is a pretty good thing as to me-we are not exactly great at defending set pieces !!
