A team for Northwood

Obviously all about opinions everyone, however I ask that you don't start saying such and such is better/worse than so and so from last year... give these guys a chance, none of the new players have even played a competitive game for Slough, as I am sure you will see competitive games are a very different animal to friendlies.

My opinion is you have seen a few that have performed in certain games, and some that have not pre season and who have a lot more to offer, and that is old and new players..... Other than a couple of games I don't really think we have got into our stride.

I just hope that everyone can get behind whatever side we put out on Saturday, and be as positive as possible, because like it or not, the players that we have in the squad will form the basis of the squad for the season, and it does not half help when you have the support of everyone.

They may need a bit more time to gel properly, as even when you bring in 3 or 4 new players to a side, it can affect the dynamics slightly, and these lads just have to get used to playing with each other, and I have no doubt that once they do, we will be strong contenders.

However the hope is that it clicks this weekend and we can get off to a positive start, but like we have said throughout, no game in this league is a gimme.... and that will certainly be the case Saturday.

Neil,I BELIEVE all Slough fans want you and Jon and your chosen squad to be successful and are 100% supportive of this cause.Myself included. We will all be behind you,John and the team on Saturday.

This thread was supposed to be light hearted piece for the fans, not to ruffle feathers of the management or any players.

We all view games and players in different ways and just because you prefer one player in one game doesn't mean you wouldn't play those left out of your team selection in other games.

The fans selection are fictional. Yours and Jon's selection is fact and is the one that matters.

However, please do not get your knickers in a twist about fan's opinions as this is what a fans forum is supposed to be about ! Otherwise there will be little point having a forum,if everything is out of bounds and censored.

I totally agree with that Stuart, however it looked like the thread was going down the route of so and so is better than such and such, which I really do not feel is constructive at this stage....

Especially as I know pretty much all the players read this forum...

Totally understand and respect that Bakes.

You can be assured we'll all be supporting the team 100% on Saturday.

Neil/Jon

You will have realised by now that there are strong personalities among the Slough fans with positive opinions and views which are expressed here because it is what it is..........a forum. Opinions are exchanged in the clubhouse, on the terraces, round the tea bar, as well as here. The opinions are all expressed because of the passion felt about the club,. often by supporters of many years standing from the days when four figure attendances were common.

We wont always agree with you two but will always accept that all selections are those you feel will bring the best result on any given day against specific opponents ------the comments after each game will usually be constructive and enlightening

That support the you and the club will be apparent when the boys come out at 2.55 on Saturday

GOOD LUCK
