OldTowner
Reading a few Wealdstone notes it would appear that with 2000+ crowd ( fantastic at this level ) that there was no segregation and very poor stewarding. Trouble when Home fans started to throw beer over Stones supporters. How would we have reacted ?? Needs sorting ( assuming correct message from Stones ) or there could be serious trouble during the season. Jay played - Scott not even on bench. Tom S
I'd take your second sentence with a large pinch of salt. Wealdstone fans have a most unhappy knack of attracting "unprovoked" trouble wherever they go. Strangely nobody else seems to have trouble at the same places. Oh and using "Stones" as an abbreviation for Maidstone v Wealdstone is less than ideal.
Arthur Salisbury
This does seem to be a problem with Wealdstone - two minutes on Google turns this up: http://www.lewes.co.uk/forum/post/Wealdstone_FC_acts/90739. Where did you hear about the beer incident? I really hope it wasn't Maidstone's fault (the consensus on Twitter is that it was mostly Wealdstone fans) because I was really looking forward to their games. missunderstood
Apart from their more than healthy gate receipts they also make a huge amount of money hiring out their 3G pitch, and the associated extra profits from bar takings. Probably one of the best run clubs in non league football IMO.
