yep -agree with that.

there I was after 75 mins thinking -don't despair-we may well lose-but we look semi decent.

then marvellous stuff we go and win the thing.

marginally better side in first half-creating a few half chances ,and dominated second half.

a couple of observations-dolby had a good first half-despite giving away a needless penalty.

I have been wondering whether walsh should be playing in defence, but on todays showing-I was wrong-lead the line really well and scored a good strikers goal-.

After continually falling over in his green boots-vines had a really good second half, and put in one really good last ditch goal saving tackle.

the midfield seemed to work ,and whilst whitely and bodkin were out wide, they worked hard. tracked back ,covered the full backs and we had a genuine midfield working together.

all had decent games-no-one outstanding for me-just a simple team and efficient performance.

i'd put the credit for the win down to the management team-they set it up well-simple 4-4-2.

hard working ,simple and efficient. the right players in the right positions and all working hard-all good.

I only temper the delight slightly because having seen both Hampton games last season-when they looked a good side-the Hampton side this season is not a patch on their side last season

everyone worked hard-and it was a proper team performance

From their forum...

"Disappointed players"?- None more so than Moone, who having failed to play Rocastle for what should have been an easy finish then failed to keep possession and Margate go straight up the other end and score!

No more than they deserved 2nd half though, with Rodney keeping us in the game both halves along with some desperate defending at times. You can count our goal attempts on one hand, their keeper was only tested by Moone's pen, given to us by their No.3 shirt who, having shepherded Brewer off the ball successfully, decided pushing him to the ground might be a good idea - the bloke was a liability and I am surprised he wasn't subbed sooner than he was!

Poor performance all round, Gate were quicker to the ball, showed more pace on it and constantly stuck a boot in to dispossess us. They dominated the middle of the park, where we lacked steel and pace - the game largely passed Brewer and Lake by. Why Darren doesn't pick himself, I know not - we certainly needed him against their No.9 shirt today.

A relegation battle looms if we don't raise our game - considerably!

sort of right about the moone chance-but we had 3 very similar opportunities in first half, where the very hard working ademeno either could not quite get his shot away- or it was blocked.

sometimes it goes for you and sometimes against. defeat/victory are always narrow margins.

its not always the better sides who win-yep-moone should have scored-but not much different to us in first half

Can't see official report, and not on twitface so don't know what that said, but I agree with the comments above. We were always the best team on the pitch, and the win was well deserved. Note also that the opponents are one of the fancied sides in the division.
