dannyriding
speechless.................... and cant even say we was robbed, they fell over a lot and the ref/linos (were again) suspect, but they always looked as if they were gonna score, where as we had three strikers on the pitch for most of the game and were almost inept in front of goal........ almost speechless - maybes someone saw different. dflman
Cannot disagree - let's hope they sort it for next Saturday
Broadstairs Dave
Eastbourne are a well constructed side Tall guys at the back playing the ball out to a vertically challenged but very fast forward line on the ground. Ideal balance for conf south. Margate again played their best football on the ground, corners were wasted as unable to clear the first defender, work to do before Saturday. michael
not there, so can't comment upon specifics, but from the little I have seen to date, always thought that midfield (there is one) and attack better than last season-and defence is heaps worse. clichéd but true =you learn a lot more in defeat than in a win -esp in a psf. won't do any harm this-pity it came so late in the schedule though to show that there is a long way to go ,and that another quality defender(s ) is a must-maybe even a two month loan to see us underway, and through a few rounds of the cups

michael
I simply wonder why he isn't playing there now, having played in that position for ebbsfleet last season. Must be a good reason ,known to manager and player-and they know best-but from afar-seems slightly odd but no doubt there is a very good reason
vic pain lives!
Got the impression (probably wrongly) that the way we got him to sign was the promise of playing in his preferred position don't myself expect or want to see him at the back not with bealsey vines l'anson and avo on the books. michael
did wonder the same. agree that l'anson can play in defence ,but are they better employed in central/holding midfield-or just in front of back four-and whilst both capable of playing in defence as we both agree-are they top quality central defenders which is going to be a requirement if the club is seriously aiming for top 5 finish ? affordability at end of day though, and their flexibility is a definite bonus-and I guess we can't realistically afford another top quality defender-be it at full back or central defence of Beales' ability. Happyish with what we've got-but you always want better. I can only truly judge on the Whitstable game that I saw-but even there the same defence did not look great, and no matter what level of football you are playing at-or indeed-the opposition faced -even if from a higher level-to concede 4 goals from set pieces may not reflect the greatest show of defending ever witnessed. that given-Mr Sandwell will no doubt remind us that had Bodkin been involved-Margate would have won 5-4 ! Chris1
Margate official report states: "Margate FC ... lining up in a 4-4-3 formation" So we still couldn't win, even with the extra man.
