Aveley fan knicked

Eastside Urchin

Recommended Posts

where would you like us to start?

There was a group of 30 ish of them.

Some of them paid to get in, however the majority came through the open gate or over the wall at the far end.

Or came through an exit near the players tunnel. (Aveley FC really needs to sort this out)!!

From what we saw they had lit a flare and some steward had gone over to them to, i presume, take the flares from the kid, and the next thing we saw was them all scatter and a few jump back over the wall and start, what looked like jumping or gathering around some thing.

After that we heard one of the stewards had got attacked by the kid who had his flares taken from him.

Good job and all if he has got arrested. Serves him right IMO!

I must say those "kids" that were there last night to "support" Aveley were the most disgusting foul mouth bunch of yobs i have ever seen. Wont do Aveley FC any good with them around!

From what I've seen of Aveley in the past, I believe that these 'fans' are definitely not representative of the football club in general (I have seen Dagenham Kev there but he was a Bowers and Pitsea fan for the day!)

Hope Aveley FC clamp down on it.

Glad I didn't go now

Aveley had a load of 12 to 13 year olds a few years ago (around the time they made the play offs) who were a right pain in the backside. Wonder if it's the same group albeit a bit older and definitely not wiser.

Unfortunately this is very much an on-going problem at Aveley, and a number of reports last season have mentioned the bunch of yobs at that ground.

We had them at Hornchurch a couple of seasons ago when Aveley played.

I don't know who or how many were charged, although the police had set up a 'headquarters' in the social club after the match and were taking either statements or were charging someone. I am surprised that only one was arrested - they should have charged all of them - difficult to guess how many there were, but it was over twenty.

They were behind the Hornchurch goal in the first half and behind the Aveley goal in the second half.

I went to Aveley a few times last season and they were invariably there. I had intended to complain about them after the match but the Aveley boardroom was empty.

I think I am correct in saying that no HFC supporters were involved, as the majority were standing along the side of the ground. The incident in question occurred immediately after the referee had blown for half time.

im mostly shocked how the aveley fc delt with the situation to prevent this to happening thier chairman seemed not interested and allowed one voulteer steward to tackle 20 plus youths on his own. A fact i picked up on the essex police website is that since june - 30 july Neighbourhood Action Panel meeting there has been 23 reported incidents of Anti-Social Behaviour in the Aveley area, this has grown slightly over the last month

Non one from Hornchurch was involved.

In fact we was all at the far end or along the side  (main stand side) rooted in shock at what was happening!

My cousins moved away from Aveley to the Cambridge area the other year. I couldn't understand why they would want to do that when they said because of the area.

But after that incident at Aveley i now understand why they did.
