in my opinion any man who has 9 children and doesn't contribute a penny to the nation's economy is definitely a menace because of his actions that day the taxpayer has now had to pay out again giving his family some lovely 'compo',i have no sympathy for the copper but theres only one person to blame for all this and thats a pathetic alcoholic, how much he and hes family have cost the British economy I dread to think.

Basil-Don - You have said it all there, Tomlinson had nothing whatsoever to do with his family and as soon as he died they came out of the woodwork with fifty pound note signs in front of there eyes

Small price to pay to ensure that we aren't policed by thugs!

You should be more concerned about the much larger sums being trousered by unprincipled fat cat lawyers/ ambulance chasers.

Decent law abiding citizens don't go on three day booze and drug binges or use porn.

I think quite a few people will point out that drinking - even to excess and looking at porn are not yet illegal Alan. However it's personal opinion as to these people's decency of course.

It's way past time that most drugs were de-criminalised, apart from meth because you truly must be retarded to use that and the truly vulnerable need protecting, however most other drug users just have weak addictive personalities and need drugs as a crutch to get through life. Let them do what they like to their bodies etc.

IMO its the crimes addicts possibly have to commit to fund their habit, plus the fact that the victims of those crime, and the addicts friends and relatives suffering, because of the addiction,  all mean that drugs that are illegal now, should never be de-criminalised.

I tend to disagree I'm afraid, while none of these addicts seem to be particularly clever of course any criminal enterprise to fund any habit including alcoholism should be punished appropriately but there are pro's to the de-criminalisation for users such as regulating the supply, taxation and budgeting for known numbers that need healthcare. Regulating the supply should mean a more consistent product is marketed and taking the supply out of the hands of criminal gangs. It's frankly a waste of resources imprisoning weak minded addicts.

To be fair, my personal knowledge of drugs is virtually non existent, but having known  a fair few drug users over the years, my anti drug stance is a very strong gut instinct. I have often asked why they take drugs, and have yet to receive an intelligent answer, and most of them don't even know. Sadly they all  hate what it is doing to them, but are unable to stop.
