Matt123 - who actually makes a prediction with any knowledge of what will happen, apart from throwing in the usual suspects from previous seasons. It's all pretty much guess work and the first 10 games will have to be played before we have any real idea. Even then we know the league is full of inconsistent teams and this will change quite a bit as the season progresses. I do feel, however, that it could be quite wide open this time round.

We weren't happy with our performance on Saturday, but got no more than we deserved on the day, and we move on to the next game.

Still, based on your methods of forecasting the season at this point I am off to Ladbrokes to put a load of money on Yeovil and Bournemouth to fight out the top spots in the Championship, Preston and Wolves to score the least goals of all teams in League 2 and Portsmouth to be relegated to the Conference!

Plus, of course, West Ham to win the Premiership :D

Happy with 3 points. A great free kick from Jack Coventry and an equally good finish from Carl Saunders saw us edge a game that maybe should have been a draw. A big thanks for the excellent (as always) hospitality and I have to say the pitch was immaculate. All the best for the season>

agree with that mate were diappointed to have lost if only our first couple of chances had been taken couldve been a different story also good luck to yourselves

Got this from a Brentford supporters chat page.

"On Saturday i went to Spelthorne Sports who thrashed Sandhurst Town 4-0.Spelthorne were as good as Sandhurst were bad and the opposition had basically a youth team out who if Saturday was anything to go by will be whipping boys this season.

Spelthorne had two players at least who should be playing Ryman and could push on. Cracking striker called Lee Staples who banged in 21 goals last season and a good midfielder called Oliver Fayed.

Nice clubhouse over there as well."

I spoke to a gentlemen this evening who watched a part of the Spelly Game and some of the Lammas game, he said that Spelthorne was a very very good side.

FT Dorking 1-2 Sheerwater

As it was the opening game of the season,  DFC  allowed free entry to all and recorded the 2nd highest reported gate in Div 1.

The bar did well, as well !

That was why I struggled to get in to the car park

Really? First i've heard, was it publicised at all? Knew all about the Windsor offer.

To be fair, it was a late decision.  I could have done the gate, but an 'executive edict' decided on a freebee for all.  To be fair, I reckon the bar took more on Saturday than many match days last season when we were in the Prem.

Even I was surprised to see the car-park so full by 2:00pm.
