Warren only got them mid way through the session, long story but they were meant to be delivered during office hours Wednesday, but some courier tried delivering them at 7am when nobody was at the office, so I rang up asking for 9-5 next day (Thursday)... they eventually arrived at 6.50pm with our session starting at 7pm... was not best amused, especially as my office is in Alton so an hour from training.

Anyway I got there just after 7.45pm and he went running with them, and he immediately felt better with them on, it gives him a lot of support, and we hope that with a course of painkillers that he is also taking now, that he will be in a position where he may be able to get through a game with only a small amount of pain, as apposed to what he has been putting himself through pre season.

Thought it was a pretty good performance, we looked a little shakey for the first 20 minutes, and Jake made a couple of good saves early on to keep us in it.

Foulser has been struggling with severe toothache all week, and at present has a load of nerves exposed in his mouth and did not feel great, but after that initial 20 minutes when I think he was getting going I thought he was excellent, as was Guy Hollis next to him.

I thought after that 20 minute spell we really came into the game, and we looked dangerous going forward...

Was good that Clurgy and Warren both came through unscathed, and Wazza felt a lot easier with the support shorts.

Ollie Burgess again was very good, and was unlucky not to score with a great strike, and once again I though Scott Harris was excellent when he came on, he has been ill all week with a bug and has lost 9 pounds, but his hold up play was great, and finish excellent, which makes it 5 in 4 games for him.

We brought Asen on today someone that we know well, as Sommers picked up a slight hand injury in training so we wanted to protect him a little.

But all in all a pretty solid performance on a pitch where the grass was probably a little too long, which does not necessarily suit our game.

Good solid performance against a pacy Harrow Borough team who relied heavily on the long ball to their quick forwards.

I thought Harrow edged it first half and we were the better team second half, so a draw was probably a fair result.

Both Adam Foulser, Guy Hollis and Scott Harris again looking impressive.

IMO still a few places still up for grabs:

Right back position

Centre mid, someone to partner Jamie McClurg

Striker partnership.

Overall very pleased with our progress and looking forward to the Burnham game.

Due to various commitments and bad timings of games for me today was my first opportunity to see our new look outfit........

For me I thought it was a very good performance and was impressed by Somerville, Hollis, Lake, both Harris's, McClurg and Burgess........

Burgess looks so much more involved being played in the centre and something I have mentioned before that often down the wings he is isolated, in the middle he sees more of the ball and has all the right attributes.........

Overall I also thought there was a real desire and hunger, we fight for every ball and its like everyone is in it together........

I was a fan of Bateman and appreciated what he had done for our club but under him we always had quality players but never really looked like a team, often shown through strops at each other........

A team will always do better than 11 individuals, that for me is the difference that I saw today

Nice considered opinion there Mark44  :)

Unless someone gets injured Ollie Burgess will only ever play down the middle in this team as the wide positions are sewn up with Daz Wheeler and Wazza Harris.

As I have said before Ollie Burgess has always had the ability and as you say he needs to be involved and not isolated out wide. He is a bit lightweight in the tackle but he is a ball player and not in the team for his tackling/physical attributes.

Good battle between Ollie and George Short for a starting place IMO.

Good run out and good performance I thought. against higher league opposition  I'd argue that apart from their chances early on where Sommers made several good saves we were the better side on the ball first-half and played well, but did not create anything in front of goal apart from a Foulser shot from the edge of the area.

Second half I did not think we played as well as the first, but we created several good chances in this half.  Draw defo a fair result against a Harrow squad which I think is probably the best they have had in a couple of seasons.
