I am extremely confident that, if Windsor are able to keep the squad together for the season, then we will win the CCL PL.

I say that because, from November onwards, after the fall out of the squad leaving in September, we accumulated the 3rd highest PPG tally in the league, and most of that was without star striker Ben Harris.

Ok, he's not fit yet, but from the squad was a very young one last season, and with another year under their belt, they cannot fail to be stronger. And the signings made in the close season do look to have strengthened the squad.

I'm sure we'll lose a player here and there to injury and money during the season but, honestly with no disrespect to any other teams in the league, and without even a hint of arrogance, I actually do expect us to win the league comfortably.

But a lot can happen between now and next April.

Bring it on.

(I'm not enough of a student of the league to keep up with player movements in other teams, so have no real idea who the challengers might be, or indeed who might be relegation candidates.)

Hate to say top 3 but I think Windsor will win it.

If South Park continue their year on year improvements I can see them challenging along with Molesey as well.

But I think there are several teams that could make a decent start and then be up there.

Bottom 3 I have no idea.

Surprise package.  Westfield :)

Loving your work Rother!

Quote 2 in same thread " I actually do expect us to win the league comfortably."

OK here's my go:

Premier:

Windsor

South Park

Cove

The way out of this league is by being both organised and prepared on and off the field and I believe that these two clubs are well ahead of the rest in those departments. I have gone for Cove for third ahead of Badshot Lea as Cove finished very strongly last season and would be surprised if their squad has changed much as a result of that momentum. I also believe (just a gut feeling) that Badshot Lea will not properly push until they are in their new ground especially as they can't play Step Four at Ash. Once they get their ground sorted I feel they will be right up there.

I'll go for Epsom & Ewell to complete the top five as we have retained almost all of our players and upgraded in a couple of areas. Our traditional slow start will be scrutinised immediately as we open up against Alton, Westfield, Mole Valley and Camberley and with no offence to any of those teams, we can't afford to drop many points there as you know that the title winning teams won't. As we found out last season, even a fantastic mid-season isn't enough if you have a poor start and it's the old adage of "you can't win it in August/September but you can lose it". Looking back, that's where we fell short and I know Lyndon will be as aware of this as anyone.

As a surprise team I would suggest Molesey who are always dangerous.

Div 1:

Eversley & C

AFC Croydon Athletic

Epsom Athletic

Eversley & C looked solid when I watched them twice in the Dave Wilson Trophy this week. They competed well in their matches with Colliers Wood and Epsom, and whilst I felt that they were no better than either team, they were certainly no worse, and if Epsom and CWD can survive at Step Five, then so can they, once they sort their ground issues out.

AFC Croydon Athletic are not quite a sleeping giant, but I feel that after the last couple of seasons turbulence they may be ready to push on now. Epsom Athletic are a very organised outfit and will be there or thereabouts, especially if we have a decent winter and they don't have to play 15 games at Chalky Lane in April.

I know little about Spelthorne so can't comment on them, but I am surprised that only one person has mentioned Lammas. Aren't they usuallly one to watch?

Although I had a dig at Rother at the top of this thread, I do feel that Windsor are a bigger club than the others at this level as things stand and he is probably right that they'll win by a few points, but I wouldn't rule out South Park, freshly aided by a £50k grant and large amount of FA Cup revenue, which will mean that they could strengthen their side if required without breaking the bank. For them, they may have to decide if they are ready to take the next step but from the outside looking in, it looks as though all the pieces are in place for a proper push.

Ironically, after great Cup and Vase runs recently, it might benefit South Park this season to miss out in that area to keep on top of their fixtures, especially as Windsor will with their pitch, and unless you have a Guernsey sized squad it's difficult to keep playing catch up.

:P Yeeesss, well, I kind of see what you're saying, but my point is that we should be significantly stronger than we were in the 2nd half of last season, when we still amassed the 3rd highest Points per Game in the league, so I'd be surprised if that isn't good enough to win the thing. (i.e. I'd be surprised if anyone else is able to put together a stronger squad... if they do, sobeit!)

Oh, I should say that I was impressed with AFC Croydon Athletic in their final at Stag Meadow at the end of last season, so if, as appears to be the case, they have kept the squad together, they should definitely be a force in Div 1.

Fair to say I think we'll all be surprised if Ascot make a splash in the CCL this coming season ;)

If they do, somebody will be in hot water.
