Tonight v ramsgate

Though I don't share your opinion on this occasion Steve lets hope you are right & I am wrong because otherwise we might be in trouble down the line. The second half reminded me of those 6 losses last seasons end & I couldn't bear to see us go through a stint like that again.

Changing the subject I see Murphy has been granted a years contract at Dover. Either CK has a reduced budget and is recruiting accordingly or he has made an error of judgement.

Oh! harsh Cookie. You obviously did not see last season's pre season games when he played his best games for us.

Yes I did but that was then and this is now. Last season you couldn't fault him for stamina and enthusiasm. He has that in abundance but generally his over-enthusiasm (cant fault him on that) gets the better of him and more often than not his last ball in or his attempt at goal,or even his ball control was pretty poor.. Yes he had the odd spectacular goal that he managed to hit correctly but most players have their magic moments like that but overall and on consistency levels I was disappointed with him

not there so can't comment on the specifics, but from a distance inclined to agree with SteveBB.

main thing is with a very small squad-no-one got injured.(from either side I hope )

Equally, Kinch and L'anson not there/playing and arguably they are the experienced midfield 'driving force.

Not the end of life as we know it, but Murphy will be missed as a striker as he is a bit different in style to Attwood, ameone and walsh-that given-what did Azeez play like in his 30 minutes-on paper (and games are not played on paper ) he would seem to be a more than adequate replacement.

I still can't help wondering whether Walsh should be playing as a central defender after playing there all last season for Ebbsfleet ,but I have no idea in all honesty of his best position

Talking of  Craig, i  thought it was a shame  that  he took to twitter  to  slag off  cookie  and  his opinions, if  he is  touchy about a  friendly,i can see   him blowing a  gasket  when   the league starts  and someone  slags  him off.

moving on from Murphy-apart from Azeez thought overnight-whatever happened to Alex Rhodes-similar type of player in build, style and probably a bit more of a goalscorer.

I guess he has just faded away and gone to pastures new.

Don't think we were ever advised that he had left-but simply wonder where he went to.

Did'nt seem to part of CK's thinking-no idea what SOHO would make of him-but would seem to fit the murphy direct replacement box .
