Tonight v ramsgate

I simply hope that no-one from either side is injured .

Already seen a psf elsewhere where a player damaged his cruciate.

with a small squad, staying injury free (and suspension free) will be even more vital this season.

Maybe a bit too inexperienced for me liking ,but he could be the next chris smalling; so hope our Cypriot international defender proves his worth tonight.

I do have a concern that the defence is not currently of the same standard as last year

WWith 14/15 players now signed and the bulk of the squad in place-I wonder if any of the other trialists will have now moved on-or whether there are a few there still vying for a contract

Great match report on the Ramsgate forum. Seems they were denied about 6 stonewall penalties and ours was completely unjustified! Gotta feel for them!

The game might have been improved if the Team Sheet actually reflected the correct numbers worn on the shirts, and not just random BINGO numbers, and if only we had some sort of electronic substitute board so that every one could see/tell who was being subbed, but I guess I'm asking far too much....

It was a deliberate ploy by Ramsgate Mark. It gave their fans near me something else to moan about, ........... And you know what Ramsgate fans are like if they're not moaning

Thought all in all was a fairly decent game. Margate were definitely the better side in the first half although i felt kept trying to walk the ball into the net, when on a few occasions should have had a shot. I think Olly Schulz will be a massive signing for Ramsgate as he was solid at the back for them.

Second half i have got to admit that Ramsgate were the better team and i think they looked more up for it than Margate. Ryan Dolby was definitely man of the match. Thought he was outstanding. Just feel he would do an even better job playing further up the field. Think he is a bit wasted at Left back as he has so much pace and skill.

If that is the best display your team can put up on especially, as you are playing your local senior side  i suppose you would have the right to moan, moan, moan.  They were lucky tonight, we seemed to meet them down at their mark, not playing  any where near the level we did against Welling. At times I thought as did others, we had that old gap in midfi

eld between defence and the forwards line.

Anyway, once is enough for me, I don't think I could put myself through that again, "What's the point in it" and on a friday night as well.

All ready  very  clear  its  going to  your  biggest game of the season.

least our stick to your side is 'tongue in cheek' and now and then......your comments on your forum are just plain nasty sometimes and quite regular, yes quite true "biggest game of the season"...... in the area, but that's where it ends..........

Lanre Azeez =if he's played over 40 games in the conference for Ebbsflleet-he must be half useful ?

Murphy's direct treplacement?

still lthink a central defender is needed ,but what the heck=can't have everything you want I guess

Some positives in the first half. Good play by a lot of players, notably Bodkin. Walsh needs to brush up on his ball control but otherwise we bossed the first half though both goals were fortunate despite good play working up to them. Ramsgate hardly got a look in and maybe we should have had a couple more by half-time. Second half was full of negatives I'm sad to say. Failure to pass a ball or to finish off the chances we had. Allowing an under-strength Ramsgate side to push us back as they did. No I don't believe we took our foot off the pedal. It was more that the players, who looked good in the first half, thought perhaps the second half would be a stroll and to a some extent it was but any Ryman side playing against us with that kind of second half performance will surely tear us to shreds.

We need to quickly have the main players playing together and to get to know each other and how each other thinks and plays. Once we have that understanding I believe this bunch of players will do well. Play like we did in the second half in league matches and we will struggle to get out of the bottom half of the table. Still,we have silverware and over the two legs class did show and the ultimate outcome was deserved.
