27th July V Biggleswade (A)

Agree with Gary, Biggleswade are nearer our level and will give a better measure of the new squads ability compared to the teams played so far.

Second half looks like it could be "moist" if the weather men have got their forecast right.

Not sure about that.

Biggleswade have strengthened considerably over the summer.

I note from the Biggleswade website that their pre-season so far has been a bit of a disaster 1 draw and 5 losses perhaps they've been experimenting/trialling We will have to see what team they put out against us hopefully their best I recently had a cardiac op and am recovering so haven't been able to attend any pre season games and I cant drive until next week then I will come to the remaining ones Looking forward to seeing all the new lads.

Half time 1-0 to Biggleswade.

However, we've looked quite good creating a few good chances including Smith going one on one and then later hitting the bar. We should have had a penalty for handball too.

Read, Logie, Blake, Lansiquot, S Harris and Burgess on for Lake, W Harris, Dyer, Smith, Edwards and Short.

Goal for Slough, 2-1. Scott Harris shows great strength to hold off two defenders and the ball falls to Read on the edge of the area who strikes it first time into the bottom corner, great strike. Last 5 mins.

Lake came back on for Couch about 75 mins, and Biggleswade have hit the post.

an excellent result for us and Biggleswade's poor pre season continues  This is the level we aspire to so its always satisfying to get a good result against a team at this level  Things coming together nicely for the seasons start.

I don't recognise Harrison and couch from previous pre season games any info on them?

Wes Harrison is the ex Godalming defender who has signed with Slough for this season

Aaron Couch was with Burnham last season and previously was at Beaconsfield and Marlow.

Very good performance putting Wednesday's horror show behind us. Thought we were very unlucky to be behind at half-time.

Second half they came more back into it, but thought we just about edged it in the end despite them creating a couple of good chances late on.

Couch impressed I thought. Also thought Fraser, Foulser, Edwards and Scott Harris also did very well today.

Just as a matter of interest,as I wasn't at today's game.Who played centre midfield in the 2nd half?

Presume Logie to be one,who was the other please and how did they play together,as a pair?

Well, that was better than Wednesday! Thought that everyone did well, with Couch and W Harris catching the eye in the first half, and after the break S Harris, Lansiquot and Burgess standing out. Biggleswade were lucky to go in 1-up but also missed a couple of chances themselves. However, the final scoreline was a good reflection on the performances of both teams.

Honourable mention to their keeper who was good value, and also to Neil and Jon for coming over at half-time for a chat - nice to see interaction like that. Onwards!
