27th July V Biggleswade (A)

Tomorrow we travel to Biggleswade for what will be another tough game in our pre season fixture list, I know their manager very well, and they have made some very good signings in the summer and will no doubt be stronger than they were last year.

The pitch and set up is excellent there, and the reason we wanted to get this game played.

We do have a number of players missing or potentially missing tomorrow, so we are quite stretched:

100% missing are Darren Wheeler (Wedding) Dave Woozley (work) Warren Harris (Hernia) and Guy Hollis (Hamstring), we are also likely to be missing Jamie McClurg (shin) Adam Logie (calf) and Ben Edwards (ankle), though Ben and Clurgy may have late fitness tests.

We welcome back to the squad Ryan Lake, Jake Somerville and Ollie Burgess all who missed Wednesday's game, and potentially a winger that we will be taking a look at, who was last season with Burnham and has been training with Maidenhead pre season.

Michael Blount will play his last game for us before going out on a dual signing basis with Walton and Hersham from Ryman One South, as after a number of months out with a serious knee injury he needs to get himself 100% fit, however he will not be playing FA Cup games for them, and will be back with us.

Also it looks like Dan Read will be doing the same, however both have signed Southern League forms for us, and we do see them both in our long term plans, as at age 25 and 23 they are both good players, but games is what they both need at the moment.

Also Dom Rhone will start his road to recovery, he is going to try and get 45 minutes with Staines Lammas tomorrow, just to see how his knee reacts, we have spoken to him also about the possibility of getting out for some games also, as he will be a way of full fitness too.

If we lose again I suppose it will be another game not reported on the website?

Forum link taken off it, now loses not on it. Like being in Korea with just the info the managers want us to see!

Poppycock,TLJ.

Our managers have been excellent giving the supporters info about different games, the players, injuries etc. They have certainly done nothing to hide it.In fact they've been very open and honest about it.

You don't happen to be a Wealdstone supporter,do you?

Or TLJ maybe there is another perfectly good reason as to why the report is not on the web site, just ask nicely instead of having a pop.

I dont know these two managers that well, but from what I do see they seem quite honest and open so would hardly ask for reports on losses to be taken off the web site !

Now Gary please do not bring your boots and bloody typical just when I know who Darren Wheeler is he goes to a wedding !

TLJ - I didn't attend either of the midweek games, so am unable to comment on it! Nor am I going to Biggleswade or Chipstead, so I suppose if we win those games, your logic will be flawed.

If anyone attended/attends the above games and feels they'd like to contribute, then please feel free to send some words my way.

Luckily it's not Korea it's only wealdstone. Only a 20 minute drive from slough. What did you think of the game. If pre season losses concern you so much surely you went?

Oh dear, the summer sun is making people snappy :-)

I think it looks already that the team is very reliant on Wheeler playing well to set up most the chances. Hope he doesn't get injured too much.

Neil: really pleased with the communications coming from you and Jon, keep up the good work. Obviously hoping for a better performance than Wednesday evening, like you say Biggleswade are a very good outfit and it's a great setup there. I'll be there, not with boots but probably with an umbrella having seen the forecast!

FAO TLJ: were you there or not? I was, and have found some links via Twitter if you really want them. Let me know and I'll PM you if you are genuinely interested...

Ha ha... yep I think we are all hoping for a better performance than Wednesday.....

Gary in terms of boots, hmmmm how do I let you down gently??? ;-)

We may actually have Warren Harris now, as although he is still in pain he is not doing any more harm, and we might get 45 minutes out of him, the hope is that Monday he has a couple of cortisone injections which will erase the pain and allow him to play pain free for the time being.

New winger from Burnham eh?

The only ones I can think of are James Dobson or Jordan Dowdican.

Bakes, you've seen the size of me, i'm not the sort of person you can put down gently!!! Sadly for everyone, i've had to pull out of the squad for tomorrow anyway after a training injury tonight. I know, you're all devastated, but I'm sure the boys will do well enough without me for this one.
