MbrunoB
Did anyone attend or know anything about The Beat Scene Club in Cheshunt that run from 1964-66? http://www.hertsmemories.org.uk/page_id__4649_path__0p31p230p.aspx I have a friend who is looking for some further information for an article in a Fanzine. Thanks.
Steph
Next time you see Barrie at football ask him. He has told me he went to the Wolsey Hall in the 60's.
King Crimson
Quite a list. The High Numbers eh? Who knows what happened to them?
MbrunoB
Both The High Numbers and The Who in succesive months. The Mark Four became The Creation. I had never even heard of the club before.
Tom S
"Johnny" Mayall & the Bluesbreakers. Some great names there.
wilson
I don't think I ever went to this venue, but there are some legendary names who appeared there. If only the club knew at the time how big some of them would become. I do remember seeing the Honeycombs when they first started out playing at a pub in Balls Pond Road, Islington. Would have been 1959-61 as I was working at Islington Town Hall during that period. Also, by way of trivia, I saw John Mayall playing at a venue in 2010, not long before we came back to London for a couple of years. He is still a legend and has a very big following in Australia.
