Tue 23rd Games

Recommended Posts

The seventh Dave Wilson Trophy kicks off tonight with Epsom & Ewell playing Eversley & California at 7.30 at Colliers Wood FC.

Nice to see the contest back as a four team format again with Colliers Wood meeting Dorking Wanderers on Thursday evening.

Farleigh rovers 4  Guilford City 1

Great performance by the foxes but if thats all City have got they have a very long hard season ahead, shocking defensively and keeper clueless !!!

Glad you enjoyed your teams performance but if you think that City team bears any resemblance to the one that will start the season then you're very much mistaken. It was a team of trialist. Your comment about the keeper are a bit baffling were we watching the same game, he was behind a defence who made life difficult for him to say the least.

Camberley 1-0 Walton & Hersham. Good result against a very useful Walt/Hersham side who kept the ball very well. Camberley side coming together and looking forward to starting the season so the games really mean something.

Do pre-season games shed any light on how a Season will progress. If they do then Epsom and Ewell are in for a Relegation battle, likewise Eversley must be odds on for the Div 1 Title.Windsor are my tip for the Premier,Dorking,Knaphill,Eversley for Div 1.

Horley Town 1 Horsham 2

A good run out but still missing a few first team players, a very different squad from last year. Horsham went one nil up early in first half then our ex player Michael Death got the winner for Horsham. We replied with a great free kick , see the goal on our u Tube site.

Guernsey not playing any pre-seasons at all,at last they have realised that many £££s can be saved.Fully expect them to go out the Trophy and F.A Cup early,as they are definite loss leaders,as far as their rise up the Pyramid is concerned.Cup runs do NO teams any favours as far as promotion is concerned, ask South Park,Badshot Lea,Hanworth Villa,Slough.Yes the extra money is nice, but it takes it's toll on League ambitions.Guernsey have no need,as they are MINTED already. They nearly blew it last year, but luckily for them 2 promotion places were on offer.

I was at the game last night and I felt we were a bit unlucky to lose to Eversley last night.

We went behind to a good free kick but were unable to take one of a host of chances just before the break. Eversley had agood ten minute spell early in the second half and extended their lead but we came straight back and made it 2-1 with half an hour left. We then hit the inside of the post with a great header and a late goal for the visitors made the scoreline very harsh.

But if you don't take your chances, that's what happens and so fair play to Eversley who took theirs.

Hopefully we'll have Kyle Hough available again soon as he has missed the last two matches.
