Match Report now available at http://www.margate-fc.com/

My take on this result is the team (MFC) were on par with Welling throughout the whole game, yes there were goal line clearances and yes Welling looked like they could up a gear anytime they wanted and "at times" they tried but we dug deep and kept them at bay and kept them within our comfort zone.  Are we good enough to play at their level (..... probably not.... ) can we do well in the Ryman Prem.... oh yes.  In fact after the match I spoke to CH and was really impressed with his attitude and his drive to make the best team "we" can afford.  Second to this info was Joe Heally a past MFC player now integral to Welling FCs  future, his words were "why are'nt MFC in Conf South, cos the players you have are all of that standard. "  Kinda agree cos today we were equal to Welling the Conf South Champions..... flukey...... I THINK NOT....................................... BRING ON THE SEASON :)

Keeper rightly selected as MOM in report. Not the biggest keeper I have seen but good decision making, quick across the box and a superb save first half. Too good for a No 2?

my first viewing this season, quite encouraging overall, but please can we sort out the public address box, we had "unknown hits of the fifties" and little or no information audible, I was even hoping for a bit of the Who !!!

Impressed, as was the case after Attwood went off at Whistable, Walsh leaving the field at Hartsdown, we played without a out striker on the field.

Would have loved to see Whitley on the right wing, he and cox looked a exciting partnership for the future.

Know let's get out of this league.

"Eastside Urchin", Why did you let the "rabble from the crabble" score?
