Question for Chubby or YELLOW

Did anyone see the Beckham Body Parts programme last night?

 

At the end of the programme when the credits rolled up, they were playing an Oasis song I'd never heard before.

 

It was sung by Noel, and was pretty much just him and a guitar, I think. It was certainly not from any of the first three albums or their accompanying singles.

 

The lyrics were something along the lines of "we all want to be number one", or something like that.

 

Any ideas??

I heard the end of it and I think it was Noel's version of 'To Be Someone' by The Jam. It was on that Jam tribute album along with Liam doing 'Carnation'. His (Noel's) version is very different to the original though-much slower!

I own The Jam Greatest Hits, CANV. Is there much on that collection that isn't on the G.H.??

yes.. its more of a 'b' side type compilation..

basically its the best of the album tracks that didnt make it as singles..

i prefer it to the greatest hits albums

treat it as an 'album' rather than a greatest hits.. there will be 2 or 3 tracks that you will like straight away, give it some time and you will get into a lot of the rest..

it has 'saturdays kids' on it as well

no i didnt.. i kind of figured i had most of it covered..

funnily enough i saw my double lp 'snap' last night whilst looking for something, i can still recall the huge scratch at the start of 'thats entertainment' that could only be overcome by placing some serious coinage above the needle.. never mind 'dig the new breed' this was more 'dig the new groove'!
