Alex Brown departs

Recommended Posts

Can't believe they have let browny go, he was one of our best defenders and he had a big impact on the team as well as being a great leader when it was needed.

I'm sure it won't take him long to find another team and I wish him the best of luck.

Top man and gave his all for Slough. The combination of him, Wooz and NBH has been outstanding for us.

Could have been useful - especially with Hollis' long-throws in attacking areas with Browney's height, but with Wooz, Hollis, Foulser and possibly Blount and Harrison coming in we are well covered in the centre back position.

Logie, Burgess, Fraser, Smith and Wooz with Rhone and Swift injured

Hate to say it, but I only see us starting the season with 3 possibly 4 of these players. 2 of which have already been named.

Can only really echo what's already been said, Alex gave everything for the cause, it's certainly no coincidence that when he was dropped during the season before last our form dropped and St Neots won the league.  He will be missed, all the best to him.

Sorry to see Alex Brown go,too.Everybody liked his character and enthusiasm for the game. His legendary words of wisdom will undoubtedly be missed. He certainly made me chuckle on the sidelines with some of his prose.

Funny enough he reminded of Steve Daly, being the same sort of defender.Amazed me that Steve Daly played so many games for Slough. No offence to either but both aren't natural kickers of the ball. It's their size and presence in the back-line that many managers go for.

Alex can count himself very unlucky not to be wanted by our new managers.Under a different regime he may got 200 games under his belt at Slough like Steve Daly achieved.

I'm sure there will plenty of offers for 'the Ostrich'! Best of luck,Alex.

Cant believe this not happy at all, really upset and gutted, Alex was certainly one of our players who I thought would be kept.

He gave his all on the pitch and his voice could always be heard geeing up the players. Good luck Alex, will miss you mate, you will always be my favourite and as 3 says you will get plenty of offers.
