I have a bit of a concern about the long video highlights packages being online and freely available.  Will be interesting to see if these are made available during the season as it could discourage a few people from coming to the games as regularly as they would normally do.

That's ok then.  The thought actually came up during a discussion with the chairman yesterday (in fact I think it was him that mentioned it!), which is why I am surprised to see them available from this match.

 

With regards to the match, I was very impressed with the effort the players put in during the game despite the heat.  There is clearly a lot of desire to impress the managers especially by those who have not yet been signed.  We never gave Sandhurst a chance and continued to attack right up until the end.  Certainly some very exciting players and tactics which bodes well.

Special mention to Ollie Burgess for his second half performance with 2 goals, both of which were very well taken, I would like to see him signed on for next season.

Dan, I know the home games will be filmed (gantry being arranged for HP) and I don't believe any further friendlies will be done to that level. However, from the start of the season, I am not sure how accessible the full length highlights will be to STFC supporters.

Yeah I thought Ollie did really well yesterday, i'd also like to see him stay.  Must say when I went to the open training session he was looking like he was working really hard.  As for the others they were also impressive too. The management certainally have some difficult decisions to make!

Apologies if the general availability of the extended highlights has caused offence to anybody..... if the general consensus is that they should be restricted to the MYFC site for any other pre-season friendlies filmed then I will ensure that happens.

I think Araas meant during the football season, not in friendlies as we are playing all our friendlies away.

 

I think the filming of the friendly yesterday was excellent and could entice more people to come to watch a game during the season when they see the quality of the football on display.

Gonna say Lansiquot was playing as a striker.

 

 

Was he? He was playing deeper than a striker, more attacking midfield in behind Ed. He made a tackle in the right back position (great tackle I might add).

I dunno, still thought he looked good.

Going by Jon Neil they said mainly they play 4-4-2  so I would say there was someone up there with Ed

Aaron was playing up alongside Ed in a 4-4-2. Not sure how he ended up in the right back position for that tackle but was a good example of the work rate that all the boys showed which was one of the most pleasing parts of the game for me and Bakes.

To be honest I got the same impression about Lansiquot, from behind the goal it seemed that Smith was playing upfront with Wheeler more than anyone else and Lansiquot was playing in behind. He does look like a good hard working player.

My opinion is they are great and should be made available to all. Link on main website would be great.

As a far flung Rebel, more highlights will always be welcome -- not to say Gary, Nathan and others haven't provided a phenomenal service up until now.
