Thurrock Serve Injunction on FA and Ryman League

Recommended Posts

Apparently, BBC Essex are reporting that Thurrock, this afternoon, served an injunction to prevent the League Fixtures being released next week. They have appealed to the European Court of Arbitration in Sport (CAS) regarding their points deduction.

They are trying to stop everything until their appeal is heard, which might take until October !!!!!!

While I have some sympathy with the way their case has been handled,it's obvious that however pretty it is,they still played an illegible player.

It should of been dealt with earlier and wasn't which is the fault of the FA.

However, possibly delaying the league fixtures until October will do them no favours with the majority of fans etc

The FA won't stand for that - they won't be shown up and might even punish Thurrock further (Kent League anyone?)

Already said that the FA and FAW are joke organisations.

The problem here is that this was a player from up North who hadn't paid a fine apparently. There is no way in the world that Thurrock could have been aware of this.

Of course clubs must obey the laws ( and in the Ryman league a Rottweiler like Mr Turvey will enforce the letter of the law) but isn't it about time that the FA got into the 21st century and had a proper online sytem showing all registrations and outstanding fines. The availability of such a tool would make life so much easier for club secretaries and prevent mistakes.

Then if Clubs transgressed the rules they would have no excuses and no cause for appeal.

Personally I would like Thurrock to win their appeal as it would give another local derby.

Too much like a good common sense idea - the FA would not approve.

Wouldn't this have shown up on the FA's database which all clubs have access to? In fact many County's FA have this available to the public too. There is an online system though...
