Support Last Night

Nothing short of superb. Well done to all those who got involved. Nothing from the home fans at all, but no doubt it will be something about 'saving our voices for Saturday'. Uh-huh.

I don't think we deserved even a draw last night. Stortford (or Strotford Dom? <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />) were the better side and carried on where they left off in the second half on Sunday creating a good chance in the opening 20 seconds. Their class told in the end, but we proved to be better opponents than some of the sides they play in the league I'm sure.

Back to the support though, top class. Well done to BFR, Martin & Liam, Radders, Alcove, Dom, Russ, Roge & foghorn who were all getting everyone else started and singing to get behind the team.

We've not really done this at a home game yet, so perhaps there's a good chance we might have a repeat performance at home to Staines?

"Nothing from the home fans at all" - oh, you appeared to hear the chants of "scum" after another fine display of sportsmanship from your players.

Presumably none of them noticed Roy go down like a stone after being hit in the face ?

I never held Slough in particularly high regard anyway, the last couple of games have only reinforced my opinion

With Boot playing behind the front two, if he improves his work rate, then he will prove to be a valuable creative asset. Looked bright when he came on, and hopefully he'll be in the squad again on Saturday.

Eddie was very, very pleased with the support last night. He might not wave, but he couldn't have been happier with the encouragement the supporters gave last night.

Support was indeed superb last night (can we get some covering behind the slug meadow goals - maybe start a 'sponsor some roofing' fund going?)

On the other hand the Stortford fans were commotosed - you'd never believe they're playing in the fa cup 1st round on Saturday.

They were a much better side than us and we were lucky to go in 1-1 at half time - i thought Alan Foster was on great form.

And i managed to get home by 1.30 am.

And you don't think that can change? Give them a chance. Having Boot back in the squad means another fit striker, which means more choices up front, and I'm sure will mean a lot more goals. Booty for England !

As MattSTFC said, that can change. We didn't have much of a pre-season so the team may still need a bit more time to work out eachother's style of play.

I still don't believe that Boot and Miller will be another Boot and Winston. You would have thought that they had been playing with eachother for years!
