no great surprises that Corneille and starkey have left.

wonder who they will end up playing for.

neither irreplaceable ,but equally would have been happy for both to have been in the coming seasons team.

Would like to see a couple of decent full backs signed up soon

Is Dan Leach the ex-Barnet player?

or could he be the ex harrow player ?

love this time of the season-full of gossip ,rumour and mis-placed speculation .

name the 'trialist'

then inevitably the trialist who seems to tick the boxes and everyone wants to see sign goes elsewhere at the last minute , and someone else appears who hasn't played in any of the friendlies.

hard work being a joint manager at this time of year I would imagine-

If you recall the previous Manager did not sign players till the very start of the season. thinking being don't commit all the budget early wait and some good players become available at the start of the season. Not saying i agree just that I believe was the thinking.

all in all a good showing by the guys in blue.  I will note that of all the players I can name i.e. Beales (solid.. as always) Bodkin.. surprisingly shaky but heyho, and Vines.... WHAT a goal (Ian O,connell like) Holloway... solid as always, Leech.. I think at left back - good talker and set up at least one of the goals.  Craddock is one of those players that you dont see what he does until the ball goes in the back of the net (7 out of 10).  Walsh... perhaps not an out and out striker but is strong and will bully defenders IMO.  No 11 ( Warren something or something warren) sign him - quality.

Second half Scott Kinch made a point of introducing himself to the fans at the back of the goal which was a nice touch and although only played 30 minutes or so is still a quality player and an asset to the tream IMO.   Dolby was on the left wing and is such a good player that he deserves his place even if it isnt always on the pitch, No 21 (Charles something) powerfull and gifted striker who scored two goals almost breaking the net with his second needs at least a second look IMO and number 19 and 18 (names unknown) passed well and were organised in attack.  Mr Attwell (zac) scored but seemed a little easy to be pushed off the ball.  No 23 (Tommy whitnell look-a-likey) was out of his depth and seriously would of been out classed in a sunday league game.............. harsh I know but my post so heyho.

Plenty of players not mentioned but the score 1 - 5 says it all, MFC trained and warmed  up for at least 20 minutes before the game where as Ashford spent 5 moinutes shaking down before going in to get changed.  In truth had both teams met in a competitive match MFC would have put at least 5 if not more past their GK.... good warm up game...... NO bring on Ramsgate - they will test us more pre-season than Welling or any other team IMHO.

Damn forgot to mention Murphy..... bulked up and looks fit and ready.... bring it on :)

thanks for the info.

so despite playing mostly in defence at ebbsfleet last season-it seems that Walsh will play up front for Margate ?

very proud to say that I have seen phil walsh score, when he opened the scoring for ebbsfleet with rather a sumptuous long distance shot at forest green last season.

As he was playing in defence at the time, and ebbsfleet lost 4-1-maybe he is better off hassling up front.

I doubt whether he will score such a good goal for margate this season-but if he does-it would be goal of the season

Very encouraged by last nights performance quite a few big strong lads I would like to see signed up, number 21 second half wow, no 11 first half wow, overall a good bunch to choose from, but remember "You must choose wisely my son"

(don't ask me for names - it takes me a whole season then I still get them wrong - can't we just call every Matt then that would be simpler?)

Thought Youth keeper did ok 2nd 1/2, though hesitated for the goal, dealt with the corner very well. Heard Matless was trialling with Deal Town?? Thought "Ebenezer Mattara" (hope that's how you spell it) played well 2nd 1/2, down the right wing, different guy than when he was here last, bulked up, lot of muscle.

Great move down the right started with a pass by the no2 Cox to no11 (ex Bury ?)who beat 2 down the line to get it to the bye line, then beat 2 more as he ran up the said bye line.

I remember the Corinthian game last season when we allowed them to look good, played the Kinnear hoof and run game, allowing freedom to come back at us, in this game the ball was mostly on the floor, it was about quick passing and possesion. It must have been about 20 minutes before they had a man in the final 1/3.

Saturday will be a tougher test, "BRING IT ON"

Thought last night was very positive all round. Agree all comments except noted Hollers in no man's land a couple of times probably because of new men in front of gim and thought that Walsh showed an good ability to climb over the defender for the incoming crosses which will be useful. Noted T Murphy is bigger . Sign that 21 up now was my thought but as no idea who he was maybe he already has been signed. Play 4 3 3 in the next game and see if we can swamp the opposition
