Briggers
Hi Guys anyone know when the Surrey Cup draws for this season will be made? Cheers
lazarus
I have asked the County Office as I need them asap but they cannot give an exact date as yet. They are currently short staffed in the office. They will do their best to get them out on or before 15 July but cannot commit to that date.

Non League Nigel
That is ridiculous ! Can't do the draws as they are short staffed yet come the finals itself hundreds of them appear for the free buffet !
lazarus
It's not quite as simple as that I don't think. The draws cannot be done until all the affiliations have been processed, which is a long job and the County has to be sure that the right clubs are put into the right cups according to their leagues. For example now that we no longer have a reserve section, some of the reserve teams who were with us may find themselves transferred from the Intermediate to the Junior Cup, and it was only on the Saturday just past that our situation could be confirmed. Smudge
A very poor excuse indeed by Surrey F.A.,does this mean that the Ryman Fixtures will be delayed? They take your Fees on time, never have a problem with that part of their Paid Job.
mal316
Not sure why County Cup dates / fixtures from any County FA should hold up the league fixtures being processed, if that is what Lazarus is saying..
E&E Rich
In the past I'd have thought it was more of an issue when the competition used to be played on Saturdays, or at least, it was in Surrey. Actually, since moving it to midweek I can't help thinking that this is what devalued the competition. An interesting excuse provided by Surrey FA but surely Senior clubs could have had their competition drawn by now?

An interesting excuse provided by Surrey FA but surely Senior clubs could have had their competition drawn by now? I don't think they can - too many appeals going on. It was only today we found out Carshalton Athletic have definitely been reprieved from relegation which wouldn't affect which county cup they're playing in but there's still Lingfield to consider. They could be playing step 5 or step 6 next season which means either the Senior or Premier cup. I don't what the latest is on them regarding which league they're playing in. VPCTFC
It was confirmed at the Sussex League AGM last night that Lingfield will be in the Premier Division so the Surrey Senior Cup draw can be made. Lingfield had been relegated due to ground-grading but Sidley have withdrawn from the league so Lingfield have been reprieved.
Carthorse
If they did not have the grading how can they stay up because another club folded Guess they still have not got the grading?
VPCTFC
If they did not have the grading how can they stay up because another club folded Guess they still have not got the grading? It's complicated. I think I've got the facts correct - they had the grading in the past but they had to pull up the path around the ground for cricket which meant they no longer had the grading and so the league were going to relegate them. Lingfield were planning on appealing against this decision but then the Crowborough & Rye thing happened so Lingfield offered to switch across to the Kent League (thus saving their step 5 status). After all this Sidley resigned as the social club that owned their ground has gone into administration. Sidley are hoping to be back in the future as the football section isn't in debt - they just haven't got a ground to play on at the moment. This has left a space in the division which has been meant a reprieve for Lingfield. When it comes to relegating clubs on ground grading each league has a number below which it doesn't have to force teams down. In CCL1 it's 20. I assume the Sussex League has the same number especially considering that's the FA's minimum for leagues at step 5.
