The Mayor Of Simpleton
That's at Northampton Town's ground, in case people were unawares. http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/exclusive-coventry-city-agree-groundshare-4866094 I hope they can return to the Ricoh as soon as possible. It's a bit of a joke situation with them at present.
Eastside Urchin
What is the exact situation then?
The Mayor Of Simpleton
I believe it's something to do with rent arrears (Coventry City don't own their ground - Ricoh Arena, and have to pay a small fortune to play there). They've been kicked out of the stadium, banned from the training ground which is also owned by the same landlord, and are generally in deep doo-doo. missunderstood
I believe it's something to do with rent arrears (Coventry City don't own their ground - Ricoh Arena, and have to pay a small fortune to play there). Their own stupid fault, they should have paid their rent instead of paying sky high wages to players.
The Mayor Of Simpleton
Their own stupid fault, they should have paid their rent instead of paying sky BLUE high wages to players. Fixed that (couldn't resist - sorry!) Hopefully there is a light at the end of the tunnel for them - an American investor has come forward and said he is willing to put money into the club to solve their problems. The Mayor Of Simpleton
Why couldn't Coventry have stayed at Highfield Road A lot of Coventry fans would have preferred them to stay there - at least they owned the ground. They moved to a new stadium which they didn't own, and had to fork out an extortionate amount of rent on. Not a good financial move.

Rhodes
It sounded like some game at Sixfields this afternoon, maybe Coventry will be better off playing there in a lower profile environment: http://www.ccfc.co.uk/news/article/a-wonderful-game-of-football-pressley-985736.aspx

Rhodes
Great news folks, Coventry City's 14 month exile is over after the beleaguered Club agreed a deal to return to the Ricoh Arena in time for the Sky Bet League One match against Gillingham on 6 September. A dispute over rent between the Club's owner Sisu and Arena Coventry Limited (ACL) has been resolved after Sisu paid the seemingly small amount of £471,192 to ACL following a Football League ruling: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2730727/Coventry-return-Ricoh-Arena-Sky-Blues-reach-agreement-stadium-s-owners.html
Rhodes
I see that Coventry City made a triumphant return to the Ricoh Arena last night in front of a near capacity 28,000: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28977757
Eastside Urchin
That's nowhere near capacity, but still a bloody good crowd. Looked like there was 5-6000 spare seats at least
Rhodes
Yes, and for Gillingham (no disrespect), imagine if it had been against Sheffield United, Bristol City or Peterborough
