Eastside Urchin
Is anyone actually missing football on here??? Most other clubs are counting down to pre season,I couldn't actually tell you when our first game is??? Maybe it's because we went down but I just have no motivation at the moment lol
Hornchurch "O"
LIONS FIRST. Cricket (Surrey Lions) 2nd. Get fed up with all the paper talk. Everyone knows what Rooney is doing except Rooney. Who haven't Arsenal been linked with.

andydick
Perhaps once the fixtures are published and the pre-season friendlies start then interest will increase ... The main issue though is with most other clubs there's a steady stream of news that is published which keeps supporters interested in what's going on. With AFCH it's pretty much dead so the website goes stale as does the social media channels .. a couple of club news articles in the last couple of weeks is pretty poor imo. We've no information on: - which players have committed to the club - club sponsor information - new kits - sponsorship packages costs .. players, boards, programme - admission ticket prices - season ticket prices I appreciate we were in limbo until early June wrt the league we'd be playing in .. but it was only ever going to be 1 of 2 (Connie South or Ryman Prem) so surely all the pricing issues could have been agreed beforehand and just published once we knew the division. Or maybe that's just too simplistic. Fortunately we do have the other age groups (and reserves) which have occasional news to share ..
Eastside Urchin
Our chairman is on holiday till next week which obviously has an influence on any news as he is usually the most forthcoming with any news
shrimper
im already for the first pre-season game on saturday great wakering v southend and really looking forward to it we have had plenty of debate on players fixtures shirts now at last its time to see some action , weather looking great no frost or snow sunny n hot cold beer in the bar and wakering are expecting a record crowd , as for hornchurch for the first time i dont feel much enthusiam at all , maybe its relagation back to the ryman , lack of any news apart from our 2 best players leaving all just feels very flat but who knows maybe when things do get going i may feel a bit differant well i hope i do
Ozz
Personally I can't wait till we get going. Agree that the lack of news is frustrating but as much as I enjoy the cricket and rugby it's just treading water until the season kicks off again. New players (hopefully), new challenge and ambition to get back up again at the first attempt will rekindle the enthusiasm of most supporters I reckon. Pre-season will feel like its dragging on for ages as we wait for our first league game but anything is better than a Saturday without football. The Mayor Of Simpleton
Not that bothered with Gloucester City so far: We've lost our best winger, Steve Davies, to a team two divisions below, as they can pay more money than we can! Rumoured that our top scorer, Darren Edwards, is set to move to a Welsh Premier League side. We are significantly weaker than last season, and money is tight. The owner is being a major cock about only building a new stadium on the site of the previously flooded-beyond-use Meadow Park Cheltenham fans are purposely boycotting the Gloucester v Cheltenham friendly - hopefully we can cut links with them soon, horrible side. Oh, and we have to travel to North Ferriby (?), Workington and Barrow early in the season. The sooner we go back south or to the Premier the better! Hornchurch "O"
What a weekend of sport and No Football. Still celebrating Lions beating the Panthers on Friday. Then The Lions thrash The Wallabies on Saturday. Froome gets Yellow Jersey in Tour De France. And A Brit wins Wimbledon. Bring on The Ashes
