Club Sponsors

Recommended Posts

Eddie I definitely won't be buying a season ticket now, as this "sponsorship" with MYFC has turned into a farce and yet again the future of the club is in turmoil.

Some bad decisions have been made and the 3rd hand communications to the real fans is a joke.

What part of IT'S A SPONSORSHIP DEAL don't you get. So you not renewing your season ticket this year, again

No BFR i'll leave you alone.

All i'll say is when Lakes were ask to sponsor us they asked the same things like were is the club going in the future.

All the club that started this with myfc didn't say a thing to there supporters either because until we new that we had won the vote whats the point.

Other club big or small do not go to the supporters and ask them about sponsorship. not once in the past has anybody questioned the club/board were the sponsorship comes from. Just look at UK Parcels.

The peace you've said about the club distancing it self from the forum this was done well before myfc was on the scene. You've only got to ask other clubs what they think of this slough forum then you'd understand the reason behind it.

Difference this time is this sponsorship deal has been chased semi publicly (more so from MyFC) with an organisation who has a has a somewhat chequered history in its recent involvement with a non league football club. The fact there is a need for the Q&A from the club is acknowledgement in itself that this agreement raises a few questions.

What was the point of speaking to the fans before the vote? Well because MyFC were very publicly talking about our club! There are still more questions than answers particularly about the fact that customers of MyFC seem to have a deeper understanding of the future direction of STFC than the supporters.

I'd be very interested to get a Trust reaction to this chain of events.

But if we're on the topic of asking other clubs opinions, let's engage with ebbsfleet about MyFC. Let's speak to leamington to discover why they are cock a hoop at dodging a bullet.

Gary's assurance about coincidental timiing

BFR, I can assure you, the two incidents you refer to above we're purely coincidental in their timing. The forum needed distancing further from the club, for which the first step was to remove the link from the website for reasons as discussed within that very lengthy thread and something I had asked for Tom to do.

I don't think many of us were aware of the sponsorship deal at that time, but clearly the club wished for the deal to be worked through first and did not want to go public with a negative discussion which could have cost the club the £10k we've received in sponsorship.

I cannot see the problem myself-the chairman assures us they are not interested in taking over Slough Town and either party can walk away, also I would be amazed if the club have not shown the agreement to a solicitor.

basically if their money helps us produce it on the field of play I  say grab it-cos no doubt the sponsorship queue is mighty small I would imagine.

Wise words from Mr Hotspur.

Gary, I'll take you at your word, and withdraw my previous comment about the timing of the changes

On balance Im in favour of any deal that will bring £20000 to the club over 2 years. There are clear discrepancies between the position as outlined by SE and the views of some MyFC members regarding the future evolution of the relationship but SE has assured us all that he will ensure that a future takeover by them ( or any other group) will not be possible.Im sure SE is wrong when he says that if MyFc had wanted to own a club they would have gone out and bought one They simply don't have the money at present and Im sure some of their members will be adopting a softly softly catchee monkey approach to the future At the moment Im happy to accept SE's position but I will be observing carefully what transpires as Im sure many others will.

One Question have you got trust in Steve E and the board to do the right thing for the club?

Steve has done some fantastic things for our club and we are indebted to him. I do trust him. But you can't always be right and people are understandably sceptical. I'm willing to see how this plays out and hope it really is just Steve taking advantage of a good commercial opportunity. I'd hate for him to be remembered as the man who got the club involved with MyFC if things go wrong.

I think it's fair to say that quite a few of us will remain sceptical until the day this sponsorship deal ends and MyFC moves onto it's next great idea.  I have never wanted a sponsorship deal to end, but with this one I will only be happy once the two years are up.

Everyone keeps saying there's no strings attached and if it doesn't work either we or they can move on.  A lot can happen in two years and before we know it the wheels could be in motion and we will not be able to do much about it.  From what I have seen from that admin Facebook comment that I originally posted MyFC are in the market for a club but this time they want to test out clubs before buying, that's the impression I'm getting whether they're willing to formally admit it or not, and that fear is not being lowered despite the reassurances from our chairman, and I will raise this comment with him.

I'm willing to trust our board and our chairman for as long as it stays as sponsorship, it's MyFC I don't trust.  There's too many warning comments on here and on twitter to ignore.

I certainly will not be paying £50 per year to be a MyFC member.

Now I know Steve Easterbrook has shelled out his hard earned cash for our club since he's been chairman at Slough but surely a poxy £10,000 over two years for away shirt sponsorship could have been found elsewhere!

We have just come off the back of a good FA Cup run and are not short of major companies in the vicinity. To get embroiled with a very dubious outfit as MyFC is frankly ridiculous and doesn't fill me with much optimism,in that this is the right way for the club to go as a whole.

Given that our stadium venture is still somewhat in the air, I would have thought controversy would be better left alone this season.

I believe Steve Easterbrook is very worthy for our club and I have been a firm fan of his leadership since his arrival at Slough but I think he's made a big mistake with this matter.

Hopefully we're wrong and it'll all be fine. But with a chairman who's already talking about a community owned club while a 1000 football manager fans who never really got full control of their last club wait at the door talking about part ownership, I can't see it.

You'll get a choice though. They'll come to you and tell you that you CAN have a say in YOUR club. Just hand them over the £50 and you'll get to vote while others make the real decisions.

And who were those others that made the "real decisions"?

Be honest for a change rather than blaming Charnock again (I'm not his biggest fan but he wasn't the reason things got so screwed up at Ebbsfleet).

The former chair of your own Trust takes a huge proportion of the blame.

" surely a poxy £10,000 over two years for away shirt sponsorship could have been found elsewhere !"

Bare in mind that Lake was less and that was for the home and away shirt.

The last away shirt sponsor Clearway Driver got it for about £200.

and

" not short of major companies in the vicinity"

Nearly all foreign owned.

This not a dig at you

Well I CHALLENGE you to find a sponsor for more than this?
