Club Sponsors

Recommended Posts

Although we are a relatively small club it's a shame that we struggle to get sponsors when we represent a town that has so many "big" businesses.

However, I would love to have the Rebellion Brewery as our shirt sponsors as it would tie in so well with our nickmname.(Plus their product is excellent).

I am sure our hierarchy must have approached them at some time - as well as Marlow FC.

The new team management enthusiasm has already rubbed off on me BEFORE the season has started so perhaps they could visit some prospective sponsors along with Steve and/or Roy.

The club are currently exploring a number of options with regards to shirt sponsorship and are hoping to have something in place shortly.

Getting sponsors is always a challenge for any club and alot of time is spent by the club speaking to organisations and people. Unfortuantely the vast majority of the time these do not often materialise to anything.

It's been said before but It really would be great and very helpful if every supporter proactively sought sponosrships from any sources they may have, as the saying goes 'every little helps'.

If anyone knows of anyone or could provide any contact detailes of businesses that may be interested in exploring sponsorship opportunties with Slough Town FC that would be very much appreciated - Please contact Paul Lillywhite on 07598 316935 or emailcommercial@sloughtownfc.net. Paul has been working hard to get sponsorships and has alraedy had some success!

My FC have now released the results of the votes on the last four surviving clubs they have been voting on/for and Its a final vote between Slough Town and Leamington result to be known around lunchtime on Monday .

Previous round included:
Cleethorpes Town FC
Chichester City FC
Leamington FC
Slough Town FC

If the winning vote received in excess of 50%, they would win, so looks like ourselves and Leamington were close.

Round 2: http://us1.campaign-archive2.com/?u=e9d7991a2d6dea54d15f9f78b&id=b6ca907cbf

Will be interesting to see what comes of it should we win the final vote (which closes on the 8th July at 11am). Seems to be a bit of support for us on the odd comment on their pages from the earlier vote and given the club has submitted presentations encouraging the involvement, I'll be keen to hear and understand their level of involvement moving forwards.

I think we must be very careful to dot the I's and cross the T's if we are successful partial ownership is one of their declared intentions and they are saying we have indicated that we would be in favour of this Im not sure what they can deliver their's is very much a failed model Their initial membership was 53000+ by the Spring of this year less than 1000.

Clive T Too early to say If we are the chosen club it really wont mean anything that's when the fine tuning and real negotiation will begin If neither side wants to mutually agree a way forward then they will try the second club

I would be VERY careful about allowing MYFC in to your club.

Ebbsfleet had a lot of problems with them, and it is simply ludicrous that 30000 people can in effect 'run' your club.

Fan ownership sounds good, but MYFC is not the way to go about it in my opinion.

Didn't the wording say 'an option to buy a small amount of shares' once a period of time has elapsed?

To be able to buy shares surely Slough would have to become a PLC?

A small amount of shares initially but would stop them buying more in the future until they become majority shareholders?

Slough wouldn't need to be a PLC. Any limited company can have members who are shareholders. A limited company can either be limited by share or guarantee. A plc is simply publically listed and there is a trade in shares. witha private comapny shares can be sold between individuals. I imagine a private comapny currently "owns" the club.

An independent provident society (the trust) is also made up of effectively shares.

I think the MyFC project has changed a LOT since its initial deployment with Ebbsfleet/Gravesend. Having gone from tens of thousands of members down to around 1000 (I believe), I would suspect the model is slightly different now and certainly the funding model would be drastically different. I'm sure the club will respond in due course should we be the chosen club - should find out tomorrow I'd say given the vote closes before lunchtime and given it is electronic, should be quick to publicise.

Clive, don't think the club would have to, or should need to, clarify any question from an unofficial forum. Try asking the board directly either by email or at the fans forum on Thursday, or the Sandhurst friendly on the Saturday.

I'm sure Tom can have a look at that and get that sorted in due course Clive. If it's not working by Thursday/Saturday though, don't forget to ask the man, or board, in person. Sure they will provide any information they can.

Very concerned about this one to be honest.  Things may have changed since the Ebbsfleet fiasco, but still not happy with us going down this route, despite reassurances from those in the know.  All cock ups started with good intentions....

The home shirt for next season will be sponsored by the Slough town supporters trust, and the away shirt by MYFC.

Apparently some £10k will be put into the club by this new sponsor deal which has nothing to do with ownership of the club.

There is a full statement on the website.

Think Mr.Easterbrook has played another blinder. The old MyFC model has massively changed but an extra 10k and no doubt a few more fans throughout the season can't be sniffed at. Plus home shirts sponsored by the Trust.

It is a pity we can't get sponsorship from big companies in the town but i remember writing to Mars years ago and asking why they didn't sponsor Slough. They politely told me they already sponsored a football team - Napoli i think it was at the time!
