SamC
Good morning, My name is Sam Callear and I am posting to introduce myself as the new 1st Team Manager at Stony Stratford Town FC. I have been in post for a few weeks now and have been working with the rest of the management team to get ourselves ready for pre-season to start this Wednesday at 6:30pm. Players, old and new, are welcome. We have made great strides in building towards tomorrow and are looking forward to what will be a year of progression for the club, looking to build a solid foundation for future years. I will look to be as active a member of the forum as I can and am happy to answer any questions people might have about the club, plans for the season and our aims for the future. Many thanks, Sam Callear

SamC
Look forward to it Mr B! I have a lot of experience of this level, but not of the South Mids League, so virtually every ground is going to be a new experience! See you on Aug 10th
Munchkin
See you in the challenge trophy for a nice local game! Good luck, apart from that game anyway!

Winslow Boy
I thought Terry Cronin Gt Horwood manager had taken this job, was looking forward to seeing those players who reckon that they would easily beat us and Ath get battered week in week out. North bucks muppets. Good luck Sam. Look forward to our games with you.
SamC
Thanks Winslow Boy. I managed in the North Bucks last year, but as I mentioned played for many years at Step 6, so know how different it is. Look forward to our games although Winslow won't be a new ground for me, played there many years ago.

Hopefully you can bring the best of what you had last year if you feel they can make that step up and add some good local MK players. Who did you play for? SamC
I played for Olney Town and Sileby Rangers in the UCL for virtually all of my career and then managed City Colts last year in the North Bucks. Am confident we can put together a competitive side, but key for us is to build strong foundations as a club to build on and grow over the next few years. SamC
Thanks for your comments dirty claret. I would agree that the current changing rooms are small, however plans are in place to improve the club on and off the field, including changing room facilities! Stony is genuinely a club going in the right direction.
Dirtyclaret
Glad to hear it. Tbf the changing rooms, long walk to the pitch, and slope and general state of the pitch in my experience always worked I'm Stoneys favour. Never had an easy game there. Horrible place to go as an away player, u should take it as a positive. Use it don't lose it.
SamC
Fair enough dirty claret. I know as well from personal experience the difficulties of going to stony as a player, so like you say, hope to use it to our advantage (ahead of getting lovely new changing rooms!)
