Can someone ask,if there is any possibility of the Premier Cup Final, being played at a ground other than Farnborough.Be nice if us supporters in the Surrey end of the League, had a more local venue, unless of course Farnborough give their facilities free of charge, like Windsor do.Then I would not request a change.

If someone asked me nicely, I might be able to get Griffin Park?

For the seventh year in a row Epsom & Ewell have a first round tie in this competition.

When you realise that the odds of it happening just once are less than 33% I think we could be considered unlucky!!

Perhaps someone can explain why the Premier competition is open to all CCL clubs whereas the Div One competition isn't.

To provide more games and thus a small boost to operating income potential for Division One sides whom usually have much fewer league games compared to those in the Premier Division.

Similar to the old Full Members Cup in trying - and failing - to provide extra fixtures in lieu of the ban on English clubs competing in Europe in the 80's.

A boost to operating income? After you take into account the officials fees, floodlighting etc doubt there would be much change left over.

or to give the clubs in Div 1 a better chance of reaching a final - just like the Johnstone Paint Trophy or whatever it is called now - still the Leyland DAF cup to me

It's just a name. The Premier Challenge Cup is the name of the League Cup. The name goes back to the days when the league only had one division of first teams. Division One as we know it wasn't formed until 2003-04 following a merger with the Surrey County Senior League. Before then Division One was the name of the reserve division and they had their own cup, just as the reserve division does today.

I think what you mean to ask is why haven't the Premier Division teams got their own cup. I think that's answered above. To be honest, if the league did come up with a cup just for the Premier Division sides do you think many of us would be that interested in it?

What makes you think that I am interested in it? From a personal opinion, I find the competition to be an unnecessary distraction and have way more interest in the FA Vase and FA Cup
