shrimper
good luck to lewis at dartford at times he was a bit like marmite with the crowd either love or hate ..... but t was never dull with him about and i think our best player over the last few seasons , i will miss him when on form and ripping though the opposition......as southend are playing dartford in a pre season game i might well go over to watch that game now lewis should be playing as well

kimbles left foot
Thanks for the info Col. Really gutted about Smith going....yes people knock him about his attitude etc but looking at our squad over the past few years he has been the stand out player - no one in the ryman/conf south had a player like him at their disposal so obviously gutted that realistically we wont find another one in that mold/caliber, but best of luck to him he deserves his chance and is clearly better then the rp. Next season I'd like us to keep the core of the side (4/5 players) but freshen things up a little and inject some pace in the attacking third, we know what's expected to get back out of this league (and pace is a big factor against the ageing dinosaurs that the majority of the clubs have) so I'd like us to give it a real go and bounceback at the first attempt.Things seem to be going well behind the scenes and their looks like a few good local derbies next season which should boost the bank account too that plus a good (fa/trophy) cup run should see next season one to remember (I hope). cup of tea
Am sorry to see Lewis go. I think Lewis Smith for me isn't an out an out striker. For me he's more of a playmaker. One of the best passers of the ball I've ever seen at Hornchurch, great vision. Trouble is as a striker, he occasionally tried to do it all himself. Temperament occasionally let him down but he's gained far more points for us then he's lost. I would still have him in the side given the choice and hope he does well at Dartford.
