Guernsey in the FA Cup - Maybe Not!

FOOTBALL

Guernsey FC could be forced to pull out of the FA Cup over restrictions imposed on them by the Football Association.

The FA says the club, one of a few from outside the English mainland to enter, must play any replays in England, even if they should be the home side.

The club would also have to pay the travel expenses of visiting sides.

Those expenses, which come after the club has shared any gate receipts, mean Guernsey FC is considering whether they can afford to take part in the event.

I'm sure it'll all be sorted out quite amicably.

Exactly Nigel, unless you are from Guernsey it would seem. All replays away/netural venue is a new one too.

Won't be amicably, as the FA have said here are the terms, comply or sod off.

Guernsey have panicked by getting the Begging Bowl out,do not think they realise that a few rounds pass before they actually enter the Competition. Then the F.A.would give them an away tie in Sussex or Surrey. They have forgot also that Clubs at Step 4 charge minimum £8 entrance fee,so if their crowds maintain at 1000+ they will gain there. The thing that amazes me though is that the F.A. did not step in last year and do the same thing regarding the F.A.Vase,just goes to show what they think of Step 5 Clubs.More importantly they have not banned GFCTV,Why not?

Because rightly or wrongly, most CCL 'people'  do have an interest how Guernsey fair after therir two successful seasons with us !

As pointed out already, a lot of people are still interested in what happens to Guernsey plus this CCL forum is far more popular than the Ryman League forum
