Early Bird Special - Tip for the Title

Recommended Posts

Here's a challenge for you all. With only a few moves made in the transfer market and no pre-season games played yet, how do you think the ssml prem will pan out this year?

I'm thinking Hertford to win it, with Hanwell pushing them.

At the other end Holmer, Hatfield, Oxhey Jets and St Margs scrapping it out.

As confident and excited as I am about Hertford Towns prospects this season I think relegation scrap to title winners is too big a jump in one season. I think Hanwell Town and Ampthill will fight it out for the title. Holmer Green are certs for bottom spot.

Surprised RH topped Oxhey Jets for relegation battle. I think They have a lot more about them than just Putnam. They have the best centre back I have seen in the division and a very good keeper as well.

It's not that unusual. You only have to look over at Hemel who had a very different season last year after escaping relegation the year before. I think Hertford are about 4/5 signings away from doing something. However, Anstead is not the answer, he'll get nowhere near the amount of goals he got last year.

Oxhey have a real struggle on their hands now to keep the rest of their talented squad. Already hearing that next out the exit door is ambidextrous full back Chris Kiler, after being wooed by former premier league star Neil Shipperley down at North Greenford.

Prem Title: Was honestly impressed with Hertford when I saw them, but a too bigger jump in one season imo, think Karen's call of Hoddesdon is not to be taken seriously-they'll struggle next season imo, I think Ampthill will be up there for sure. Possibly AFC Dunny.

Relegation: Hillingdon ( :bigcry: ) & Holmer

Div 1 Title: Codicote, Sun postal or Crawley Green

Div 1 Relegation: Amersham or Risborough (unless RR make some serious squad improvements)

Div 2: 61fc (the young lad upfront is wasted there) or aston clinton

Can't wait!!!!

Think div 1 could have about 6/7 contenders the 3 mentioned by neutral plus harpenden if they add to last years squad, broxbourne are building something, baldock aren't any mugs will be interesting, this bloke at 61fc is he really that good see them play 3 times last season and they looked woeful they didn't score in all 3 and the number 9 hit a penalty that was closer to the corner flag than the goal!!! Risboro on there day can be decent, hard place to go to in my opinion definatly won't go down there's worse teams than them in there, new manager at Hadley will last seasons squad stay who knows think they will struggle if not, berko ampthill afc not bad shouts either to win it, London lions maybe an outsider

When I've seen him he was quality- leading goal-scorer too!

Of course-forgot Broxbourne have just been bankrolled, and also Southall seem to be taking this season seriously.

Div 1 really will be interesting! Bedford, cod, southall, crawley, harpenden, broxbourne, sun postal, also can't forget Winslow-looked really strong at the ned of last season!

Any other tips?

Prem - Ampthill or Hanwell. Think AFC dunstable will do well possibly regaining some players from Dunstable Town as they are splashing the cash.

Div 1 - Baldock with Sun Postal and Bedford pushing them.

Div 2 - would love to say us, but further improvement would be fine. Aston will be up there and maybe Hale leys if they can get a consistent side out.

It will be interesting to play Ampthill again. We narrowly missed out on promotion last year to them; therefore, it will be interesting to see how they have developed.

Bedford have to be fancied in Div 1. If they can start like they finished last year, they will be the ones to beat.

Prem :   Cockfabiosters Fc/ Ampthill Mob

Div 1 :  Sun Postal

Div 2 : The Luton 69ers

I agreed with loucas X if Ampthill can start with the same form they finished with they will be hard to stop with Warren Garcia bossing things. Also I have to agree with the Oxhey relegation call , I hear 85 per cent of last years team has already confirmed as playing elsewhere. 81 per cent of that being Lewis Putmann.  Hillingdon not so sure on, is Sam Hurrell still running them still?

Cant look past Hobbsy' Sun Postal.  Already making huge steps with his staff and squad. Going to be a force!

And Harsh regarding Oxhey Jets!

Well the promoted sides always seem to hit the ground running as afc did when they went up and i know Head honcho Roachy and his right hand man Fabio wont mess about over the summer and get straight down to business ready for the new year.

As entertaining as Oxhey were last year from seeing them lose 8-0 to haringey then the next time i see them up at Pancake Lane beating Levi 7-1 or something just without Putman, losing all other key players and an assistant manager where are all there sources of new players going to come from?

Both sides are heading the same way as cockfosters pitch - Up and Down.
