Ryan.c
Grays will now play at Aveley FC. Could've been fatal for Grays as all groundsharing deals had to be in by March 31st! Good to see the Premiership alive and kicking.
missunderstood
To be fair to Grays, their superb supporters worked their socks off getting Rush Green back into shape, and didn't deserve to be shafted by West Ham.
Blue Hammers
It comes down to the fact that the term of the lease for Rush Green has expired and is not being renewed by West Ham, however I still think its shoddy treatment by West Ham. Big clubs like to pretend that they are all for supporting their community but when it comes down to it it's all a cynical PR exercise. The whole thing has Brady's dabs all over it. Sadly this is what top level football is all about now; greed and selfishness. I hope Grays push for compensation for the amount of time and effort they have put in to bringing the ground up to a decent standard. Although they wouldn't be legally entitled to anything, a bit of adverse publicity for the Olympic Stadium tennants in waiting might bring them back down to earth a bit!! You are slightly wrong with your first point. GAFC entered into an agreement for a two year deal with West Ham at the start of last season. There is still one further year to run. West Ham have now decided to use Rush Green on a more frequent basis (After all the hard work GAFC supporters did to get the ground up to standards after it had been left to become slightly dilapidated, absolutely stinks). Furthermore, the cost to claim compensation back from the Hammers is not cost effective. Nice to see Premiership clubs supporting Grass Roots football. Shame on you West Ham! Especially after spending £30m on Carroll.
