Ex player movement

As everyone's is talking lots of rumours... and no idea if any truth in this, but I heard O'Toole and Kyle Anthony may be heading to Beaconsfield. Not sure if true, but was from a reliable source, and the fact Jim Melvin (ex-Windsor coach) is there with James Prichard does add some substance to it. Those two are close mates so I suspect if one goes the other will.

Wouldn't be surprised. If true,Beaconsfield have picked up two very able players indeed, which will definitely enhance their side.

I think you maybe right Geggy.

Our Managers have been unable to contact O'Toole and as they were joined at the hip at birth :)   I think both O'Toole and Anthony will be joining SYCOB.

Just so you know we have been in contact with both Kyle and Jake, and we also know they have spoken with Beaconsfield, which is part and parcel of non league football at this time of the season, there is nothing to report on either of those at the moment I am afraid....

I would say that the only miss there would be Parsons and possibly Anthony, however, Wheeler is as good if not better than parsons and will hopefully embed with the rest of the team a bit more.

Good luck to all of them at Sycob though, seems they will most definitely be a force this season once again

Disappointed with this latest exodus to SYCOB particularly Jake Parsons as I still thought there was a lot more to come from this likeable young man - Good luck to you Jake. I have always been very surprised by how well Beaconsfield do on their limited resources and in James Pritchard I think they now have an excellent up and coming manager.

With our new management team in place it is not particularly surprising that the basis of the Rebelas team will have a FEW players from their previous side. However, I was NOT expecting such a massive clear out of Rebels players. It wont be easy for old boys like myself to have to remember so many NEW players names.

I hope there is no truth in the rumour that we are changing our name to Godalming FC

I just wanted to clear a few things up from our side in relation to this announcement.

Joe Chandiram and Ryan O'Toole were not part of our plans due to other players we are bringing to the club in their positions who we feel are better options for us.

I actually had two conversations with both Jake and Kyle, the first one in the week we took over and the other much more recently and we were keen for both of them to take part in pre-season and invited them to do so. They both played at Windsor under Jim Melvin so that was obviously a factor as players like to play for managers that they know and vice versa. They have obviously been made an offer that they were happy with and if they want to leave then we have to accept that.

Bakes spoke to Jim Pritchard this afternoon who confirmed that these lads had committed to Beaconsfield (and around the same time the announcement came out on twitter) and we wish them all the best for next season.

This was always going to be a summer of change for the club and whilst there were some players we did let go immediately there are also a number like Jake and Kyle, along with James Warrington and Adam Martin, who decided that it was time for a change and we have to respect that. We only want players who want to play for the club and we are certainly not short of those at the minute.

It's ok some of us with a bit more non league savva realise this goes on all the time. When Tommy Lawrence became our manager he brought half of his great Enfield side with him along with Micky Droy soon to be a Chelsea regular and that scoring machine John Ritchie who went to Arsenal, no one was moaning about players leaving then-even though Roger Connell scored against us at Wembly. As far as we are concerned bring along who you like as long as they are good enough to challenge for honours.

The funny thing is Ryan O'Toole,Kyle Anthony,Jake Parsons and Joe Chandiram were ex Windsor and were only Slough players last season,as were Ashley Deeney and Dave Deeney.

For Adam Martin,Slough were a convenient stop-gap but he had some loyalty,as he had about three spells at the club.As for James Warrington,he wants to play as high as he can.

So for me,none of these departures are surprising.

3 Spirit have to agree with you I am not concerned at any of the players who have gone some have looked for a new club/challenge others have gone in my opinion because of their inability to play as a member of a team others because of very poor discipline records and I am sure a few because of the amount of cash they were taking (several did go on the social media to gloat about the great money they were on when they joined). Whatever anyone thinks of them collectively or individually they never won a thing. We now have a new management team with a recent proven record of success Their team last year won more games that us lost fewer than us and had the best defence in the league and also had an excellent disciplinary record If we can get the backbone of that team and retain some of the worthwhile members of our last squad then next season will be a great one for the Rebels.
