Nathan
I don't know if this has already been posted, but I've stumbled upon this gem of a clip https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=smH3SL1Y8H8&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Stuntman Mark
Good find. I know I'm probably alone but I loved that Brazilian style kit! Unfortunately our performances under Roberts weren't quite befitting of the colours.

Mark, that's the sort of kit that I was alluding to when I said that I wouldn't mind going back to something like the amber kit we had in the conference. RebelsAndBlues
Remember the replay at WP. Another one where we went head to head with them, but lost out on pens. I remember they had this big lanky goalie (who, fair play, gave as good as he got from the crowd), struggling to remember his name.

Graham C
I used to do some work for a company based in Macclesfield and got to know a couple of guys there pretty well who were fans of that club and I remember one of them saying how brilliant they thought our striker was and I smiled when it became apparent they were talking about Andy Deaner !! RebelsAndBlues
I also remember that defender they had, that had been around the lower leagues of professional football for a while. Efy Sodje (I think thats how its spelt), who always wore that bandana each time he played. Another big player who liked to put it about (and I think) he may have got sent off in the replay at WP. 3spirit
I used to do some work for a company based in Macclesfield and got to know a couple of guys there pretty well who were fans of that club and I remember one of them saying how brilliant they thought our striker was and I smiled when it became apparent they were talking about Andy Deaner !! Why do Slough fans slag Andrew Deaner off so much? I know he wasn't a skilful, floor playing footballer but he did have some assets, which by many went unnoticed. For a start he put himself about in the opposition's penalty area and so was a handful to defenders.Yes,a touch ungainly but strong and could head a ball.Had a powerful strike which went unused a lot. What people fail to realise is when you have a player who put's himself about a bit and is big and awkward, often space is found,by defenders moving out of position especially in corners and free-kick situations. Yes,we all know Andrew Deaner wasn't the best footballer in the world and happened to be the chairman's son but he was a trier and played with his heart on his sleeve. Remember he was playing at a higher standard than Slough are currently.Graham Roberts a proven player and non-league manager used him enough times,so he wasn't necessarily as bad as many would have you believe. While we're on the subject of the Deaners,I hope Martin Deaner gets some acknowledgement if,and it's a big if,if we ever get a new ground back in Slough ie a stand named after him or such like.As we owe him a debt of gratitude for keeping Slough afloat in troubled times, just as we owe Steve Easterbrook now. By the way,I'm not related to the Deaners! LOL!
