New Players

Recommended Posts

We are making a full statement tomorrow, but with regards to above, best to just call him Sommers.... First class keeper who is still only 18 yet played in the conference south for Farnborough at 17, and last year was also training with Fulham.

Was joint young player of the year last year, and supporters player of the year, top prospect.

Good to see managers taking chances on young players. This wasn't a Steve Bateman strong point. Hope James Hawtree gets a fair crack of the whip, too,

TBH I haven't seen enough of James Hawtree to know how good he is. Just looking at him he does seem quite slightly built and does look his age.

Jake Somerville looks quite the opposite and I was quite surprised he is only 18 as IMO he could quite easily have been in his 20's.

He is a very very good goalkeeper, that gives so much confidence to the guys in front of him. A fantastic signing.

On another note, Godalming and Guildford should hear the result of their appeals this afternoon. Good luck to both sides as I personally think it was disgraceful to move them without proper consultation, more so now as the Guernsey dream looks like going pop!

Roystonjez where did you hear that? Ive been told its got very complicated and it could be early July Ive got doubts about that so would appreciate any credible info.

I'll dig out the link, but there was something yesterday about the FA League Committee making their decision by either today or tomorrow. However, the spanner in the works could be the impending liquidation of AFC Totton

roystonjez It seems my earlier info was correct Godalming Town now confirming that they have been told that the decision could be as late as 4th July Its a bit puzzling the FA are notorious for not changing their decisions lots of people were surprised at last Fridays adjournment so it seems they may see some merit in at least one of the appeals we must wait and see.

well the bosses promised 100+ goals from last season with new players and looks like that's what we have. 30 odd goals last season between the 2 wingers sounds like the sort of thing we haven't seen in years.

hopefully we get the right balance between trusted Godalming players, existing Slough players and maybe 1 or 2 others from elsewhere. having lost O'Toole, Parsons, Burnell etc makes perfect sense to get these 4 signed up and committed to go with Ed Smith
