It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out many of the players joining from Godalming or most of the ones starting pre-season from Slough.

 

What I'm intrigued to see is if we bring in any players in from other clubs.

 

 

Nothing definite until we actually hear from the 'horses mouth' 3spirit.

 

So far we only know that one Godalming player from last season and two of last seasons Slough players are definitely with us next season.

 

I say this because the new Godalming Manager has tweeted that he has had positive meetings with the players.

excellent to have Eddie Smith signed up again. 33 goals in 45 games last season and straight away i can think of 2 or 3 games where he missed hatfuls of chances so could have been even better. 30 odd goals again this coming season will do us nicely

Yep, welcome to the club. Hopefully the management can clear-up his name for us, although when we played them last season he was down on the team sheet as Jake.

We are making a full statement tomorrow, but with regards to above, best to just call him Sommers.... First class keeper who is still only 18 yet played in the conference south for Farnborough at 17, and last year was also training with Fulham.

Was joint young player of the year last year, and supporters player of the year, top prospect.

Yes Its great to have Ed Smith back on board  The new Godalming manager has posted on their forum  in the last half hour that after speaking to last years first team players in the last few days he expects most to switch to Slough.

Are contracts at this level that common and do they scare off potentially bigger clubs from taking a punt on a player? Would QPR have taken Mo Sharif if we had him on a contract and payment was needed? As a fan, It's infuriating and unfair on Slough and I'd want to profit from selling players, but I think most clubs at this level don't stand in a player's way should the chance of a player progressing arise.

 

EDIT: Tony Mendy, former Rebel, has just left AFC Hayes with Hereford United on the radar. Would Hereford have even bothered if they had to shell out a bit o' bully?
