Nathan
But with 2 much bigger clubs right on our doorstep! And for the level we play at, that isn't bad. I'd much rather it be based on league position and crowds however!

hotspur
Wycombe and Burnham? well have you been out in the sun ? wycombe is about 12 miles away and burnham a bigger club than slough-be fair! I thought they were referring to Reading-Fulham-Watford or Qpr.

readingrebel
4 top non-league clubs ( Reading-Fulham-Watford or Qpr). TBF even I only read Nathan's reply, which didn't mention non league, and forgot that Clive T said non league. I know, must do better next time. Nathan
Burnham and Maidenhead are bigger than us by whatever standard you use IMO! Sad but true! But the point I was initially trying to make was that Margate (probably Gillingham) and Hornchurch (West Ham? Maybe Dagenham & Redbridge?) don't have the likes of Reading, Fulham, Watford or (especially) Chelsea to compete with. All of these are (in footballing terms) "on our doorstep", as they compete for the fans who might otherwise follow us.

Also not sure if Maidenhead have ever been in the top tier of non league football i.e. the conference. Sorry to use the old chestnuts but you did say by whatever standard. Eastside Urchin
Oops-you forgot the mighty Brentford ! Sorry for being a tad pedantic But we are nearer to arsenal, west ham,Tottenham, millwall,Carlton, palace, orient to name a few and I bet you are only 3/4 miles closer to Chelsea than us lol It's a fckng nightmare round here to get fans in,especially when west ham and arsenal are at home. Dagenham don't help and orient is a bit if an inconvenience as well
