In that same season we also beat Hornchurch 3-0 away (Steve Jones hat-trick!) in the Essex Thameside Trophy, how many of the 'bandwagon' Urchins were around for that one? (easy really!)

I think we had 4 shots on goal in the whole match and were 4-0 up at half-time. I also seem to remember them hitting the crossbar with an open goal in the second half and they could quite easily of got a draw.

 

We also played top of the table Met Police away the Tuesday before the Kings Lynn game, on a wet and windy night, all our goalies were unfit so Munday played in goal and we won 2-1.

Another memory that springs to mind from that day was the fact that the Kings Lynn team were locked in the dressing room after the game by their manager. Not too surprising you might think until you note that the Supporters Club ran an evening function on that Saturday night and when people started to arrive at around 7.30pm, the Kings Lynn players were seen boarding their team coach still wearing their playing strip!! Incredible!!
