Pre-Season Friendlies 2013 and ground preparation for the new season.

We can now confirm arrangements for our forthcoming pre-season programme.

 

The players will be reporting back for training on June 27th with most sessions taking part at the Eton Town FC ground.

 

Our first pre-season game will be at Eton Town against Harefield United on Thursday 18th July [7.15pm]  followed by games at Stag Meadow on Saturday 20th [3.00pm] against Hayes & Yeading and Tuesday 23rd [7.45pm] against Hampton & Richmond Borough and then, finally, a trip to Binfield on Saturday 27th [3.00pm] before the CCL season commences on Saturday August 3rd.

 

Given that we should be starting with a fairly settled squad from last season along with a few new faces, Mick & Butch want to work primarily on fitness and pattern of play rather than just have an endless run of pre-season games so come the start of the season we should see the benefits of this programme.  

 

As far as the CCL Premier Division make up for 2013/14 is concerned we have lost Egham and Guernsey [promoted], Dorking and Sandhurst [relegated] and gained Frimley Green, Westfield and Mole Valley SCR [promoted from Div.1] and Alton Town who have been transferred across from the Wessex League.  

 

League fixtures should hopefully be available around mid-July and FA competition draws [Cup and Vase] early July.

 

Before all that happens though there is plenty of work to do at Stag Meadow with a long list of jobs to complete, so keep an eye out on here for working party dates or if you have a few spare hours at other times please let me know [secretary@windsorfc.net] and we can allocate jobs according to your abilities !  The vast majority of the work is painting, weeding, strimming and general cleaning but there's also a few DIY type jobs so if you have a preference or particular skill please let me know.
